I have no will to write the thing in 256-th time, but I´ll still try to. o Dear sirs, how much times should the people say here, that an experience is what matters in LARPs, and not theoretical evaluations? There was a half-year´s discussion on the russian forum, and why did it stop? Noone could remember people that did got hurt by the wooden sword. o First of all, let´s clerify - the only vulnerable places are face and fingers, OK? And don´t tell "hurts", "hurts" is nothing until it is not a wound. And it is impossible to injure a hand or a leg or genitals with a wooden sword. Womans breast may be, but it is easily defendable by an armor, and is not an issue here. o So I propose everyone to try and remember wounds that were delivered on LARPs or trainings, dependless on weapon type or situation. I will write all the cases I know, dependless on relevancy, and ask all the others to do so - it is better to learn from other´s mistakes than make your own. o 1. One man from Haifa whose name is "Gluk" has 7 of his fingers broken on the games, and 6 of them by the "bokkens" , and he is absolutely crazy man and can not be counted as an example at all. o 2. man named "Temnij" got his finger broken on the training, but that was 110% his fault - one man showed extremely strong technics that can never be used on the game and Temnij wanted to prove that he can block that blow. Once more, not an example. o 3. one girl named Lina got her nose broken, but not by a sword (by the morning star) and the situation was so strange that I wouldn´t dercribe it here. o 4. Some eye losses and even one death on russian "metal" games, can not be counted as an a example here. o 5. One boy that was a hobbit in russian game commited suicide after the Brotherhood could not destroy the Ring, an important example, but has nothing to do with the swords. o 6. Man named Che-Gevara from TA, as far as I know, had heavily injured one boy´s eye with a spear. The eye is OK now, but a serious treatment was needed(eye-loss could occur). Pay attention - it was a spear. Other thing is that Che-Gevara is famous for his strong technics, and uses ONLY soft weapons. o 7. A LOTS of injures are caused just by the fact that lots of people gather together in the forest or castle and get drunk HEAVILY. One boy died in Russia when he fell into the lake in full armor. In Israel there were several twisted legs, some broken arms, and even one heavy injury because of people that fell in the forest or from the castle walls (Rosh-Ain) . One girl got burnt moderately when she fell with her ass into the campfire. Has nothing to do with the swords. o 8. In haifa training there were some twisted leggs, but mainly because of the bad landscape of the place - stones everywhere. Not the swords again. o I think, that is it. I can not remember anything more. I ask everybody to bring A REAL EXAMPLE of injuries during the games. o
