You just told so many lies in
such a small piece of text, I am amazed.
Firstly, the occupation of the West Bank has been deemed illegal by anyone and their uncle in the International legal sphere, but specifically the Israeli High Court of Justice has called it a "Belligerent occupation". So firstly, I think all Israeli troops ought to be taken from the West bank, as per UN resolution 242 on this subject. Then the wall itself takes a significant chunk of the West Bank, and essentially cements the position of the already illegal settlements in the West bank. Furthermore it is a stark violation of the Green Line.
Last but not least it's just a jolly uncivilized way to partition people.
When you say it's about territory, you are right, but every Zionist Pole, Russian, East German and Baltic person who has ever written something about this subject, starting with Theo Herzl and Jabotinsky but also including the likes of Ben Gurion and Lieberman more recently, have also indicated they not only want this territory, but they want it de-arabized. Quite frankly I am extremely disturbed by the Chutzpah of a bunch of East Europeans to lay claim to a stretch of land in the Levant, but to add insult to injury they do their best to pervert the place by even erasing it's original culture, architecture and atmosphere. It is really quite disgusting, if you ask me. But it was par for the course in North- and South America and Australia, so you're in good genocidal company.
Don't you think the following quotation from Jabotinsky is eerily foreboding of the Walls that Israel built?
"The Arabs loved their country as much as the Jews did. Instinctively, they understood Zionist aspirations very well, and their decision to resist them was only natural ..... There was no misunderstanding between Jew and Arab, but a natural conflict. .... No Agreement was possible with the Palestinian Arab; they would accept Zionism only when they found themselves up against an 'iron wall,' when they realize they had no alternative but to accept Jewish settlement."
This doctrine has greatly influenced all of your governments to date.
And I'll tell you the difference between the Netherlands and Israel in terms of discrimination. If you disregard Israel's greatest supporter in the Netherlands, Wilders, you will see that firstly the first article in the Constitution of this country is the "Gelijkheidsbeginsel". This principle of equality is the basis for extensive legislation that forbids discrimination of any kind. While there still is discrimination, the government is actually actively trying to curb that by offering education programs for foreigners on the one hand, and by adding clauses to the Constitution on the other hand, like the equality based on sexual preference.
Now on the other hand there is Israel. Since the JNF became the overseer of Israeli land in 1948, there have been bodies of law that explicitly state that 93% of the land of Israel must remain in Jewish hands. Palestinians on the Israeli side of the border can't even buy land to have a permanent settlement. Then on top of that there is the freedom of movement that gets violated on a grand scale. Palestinians are not only subjected by humiliations at roadblocks and the airport (which I have witnessed myself during my period in Israel) but are also required to jump through millions of hoops to even get travel documents.
The basic law of Israel is discriminatory from the get go, and will always be until you people can show me a secular constitution that guarantees the same rights for every citizen of Israel regardless of race, creed, religion and gender. Until that time, while you keep non-Jews penned up between walls, under martial law, with lesser rights than the Jews, I will take the liberty to call you an Apartheids regime, right down to your construction of townships, your use of the homeland system and your partitioning of the area into an Arab- and a Jewish state, all hallmarks of the Apartheids regime.
So don't you *ever* dare compare the state of the Netherlands, with a history of freedom of faculty enshrined in the Unie van Utrecht dating back to 1579, with the "Jewish" and simultaneously oddly "Democratic" nation of Israel. You spit in the face of my history by saying so. Obviously we got shit wrong along the way, as Indonesia proved, I'm not denying that, but our legislation is infinitely more enlightened than yours.
