That just sounds mean Etno

Let me tell you a story

In 1983 I was bashed into a wall by the same boy who, together with a bunch of his friends had been beating, harassing and teasing me for three years. I was eight, it started when I was four. The result was that my skull broke. I still have the scar. As I said in an earlier post, the teacher didn't do anything. She sent me home, walking, blood streaming down my face, crying my eyes out, hurt, with a broken skull and a concussion.

The thing about this bullying is that the teachers felt they didn't have a mandate to do something, so they knew but ignored it. Then my classmates, even the ones that weren't guilty to bullying me, pretended they knew nothing. And the boys who weren't the leaders, but the followers later told me they only did it because the leaders put 'm up to it.

Doesn't that sound familiar? Ich habe es nicht gewusst, Befehl ist Befehl, and all that. Similarly, in 1947, the Jewish population of Palestine was a small fraction of the total population, and they wanted a Jewish homeland. So the 97% of the land had to be de-arabised. Plan Dalet actually mentions the tactics for this, intimidation, surrounding villages from three sides, and shooting into villages, summary executions. This was used in 1947, 1948 and 1949 by the Hagana to drive Palestinians off their land.

Thousands of these men were summarily shot, the women, children and old people were sent marching, women were raped. The definition of a man was anyone between 10 and 50 years old. The way they were shot was by a hooded man and intelligence officers that picked out the people to be shot and just executed them by bullit.

Ben Gurion's diary contained a daily chapter called "Rape Cases". This contained reports from the Hagana, the Seventh brigade and some other units where they had raped women during the "evacuation" of these 530+ Palestinian villages. The worst case known to me was a 12 year old Palestinian girl who's father and brother got shot, mother got injured and was then kidnapped. She was taken to an encampment where she was gang raped for 23 days on end by most of the unit, and turned into their sex slave. Finally she was taken out of the camp and shot by one of the soldiers.

This was not the norm, usually it was just daughters and sisters getting raped in front of the villagers. There also have been reported cases of bayonetting of pregnant women. So after the women were raped, the men were killed summarily, the villagers were sent walking home. Blood streaming down their faces, traumatized and crying. Then their houses and villages would be blown up, erased from the world.

The UN was an onlooker in this. As were the British. They didn't lift a finger to do a damn thing at all for these people while the Zionist forces under Itzhak Rabin, Ben Gurion, Yigal Allon and other people that now have streets and squares and airports named after them were on their thieving and killing spree. The soldiers were just following the orders as outlined in Plan Dalet. The leaders claimed to be responding to an existential threat, and the UN, British and Americans saw things but did nothing.

Now this might sound like what I went through except 1000 times worse. But given the rage and pain I still feel about the above, I can surely begin to guess what the average Palestinian might feel towards his overlords. At the moment the Israelis are pretending none of the above happened. They forged history so as to make their slate look clean. They never apologized to the Palestinians.

Actually, the building of the Apartheids wall in the West bank is said to be done for the purpose of security, but in reality it connects all Jewish settlements, partitions the land so that Palestinians are herded into small townships without freedom of movement or the freedom to pursue a job anywhere. It also cuts them off from 30% of the land of the West Bank but more importantly it put 90% of all good Water supplies on the Jewish side.

So the landgrabbing and thievery are still continuing. Furthermore, the Palestinians are de facto under Israeli military rule. Per year more than 500 houses Palestinians build here and there are bulldozed, often in the middle of the night, with the inhabitants still in them.

Then they are looted. This has been going on since 1948, when Jaffa was plundered by the Zionist troops. There was even correspondence between local Hagana commanders and the High Command about how troops were out of control and taking stuff the army didn't need. In that manner, an estimated Million Dunams of land, all furniture, jewelry and all money any Palestinian had in any financial institution were seized.

Now if the dude who broke my skull would find me, come to me, admit to my face what he'd done to me and then apologize, I would have a much easier time living with it. As things stand, I would sooner stab him if I met him. And I didn't go through anything major.

The Israeli's are systematically sidestepping their own history, and in doing so are adding insult to injury for the Palestinians. You tell me how you are not contributing to the problem, please. Did you ever apologize to any Palestinian for their conditions? Did you ever apologize to any Palestinian for being a racist dick? Did you ever vote for someone else than old white Polish, Baltic or Ukrainian Jews?

Because the country has been run by a network of old army buddies and Zionist families from Eastern Europe since day one, and continues to be run by that network today. Just look at who has been in charge. Look at a list of Israeli presidents and Prime Ministers, then compare that to various war records and IDF records, and then tell me how Israel can be considered a democracy.

Hell, the Hagana commanders, Stern gang people and Irgun even said this about Mizrahi Jews in 1948. The Mizrahi units even had "Soldiers of lesser quality" than the Ashkenazi ones. Israel is essentially a violent Apartheid project since day one, as can be proven by IDF and State Archive research.

Do something against that, and you're not a part of the problem anymore.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying

here... If I spent more time in the territories? You try to discredit my source by saying I should take a holiday in Jenin, but that just makes you a bit of a dick and a bad debater.

I was talking about the Hagana, the Stern Gang, the Seventh Brigade and several units during the period of 1947-1949. However, there is no occupation army in history that hasn't raped or violated their victims. This is the main reason why the UN and every international body of law deems the occupation of "The Territories" as you so euphemistically call them, illegal.

Of course the IDF rapes. Hell, if you shop around a bit you'll even find this type of stuff:

"Is it allowed in our days [sic] for an IDF soldier, for example, to rape girls during a fight, or is such a thing forbidden?"

Rabbi Qarim answered thus:

“The wars of Israel […] are mitzvah wars, in which they differ from the rest of the wars the nations wage among themselves. Since, essentially, a war is not an individual matter, but rather nations wage war as a whole, there are cases in which the personality of the individual is “erased” for the benefit of the whole. And vice versa: sometimes you risk a large unit for the saving of an individual, when it is essential for purposes of morale. One of the important and critical values during war is maintaining the army’s fighting ability […] As in war the prohibition against risking your life is broken for the benefit of others, so are the prohibitions against immorality and of kashrut. Wine touched by gentiles, consumption of which is prohibited in peacetime, is allowed at war, to maintain the good spirit of the warriors. Consumption of prohibited foods is permitted at war (and some say, even when kosher food is available), to maintain the fitness of the warriors, even though they are prohibited during peacetime. Just so, war removes some of the prohibitions on sexual relations (gilui arayot in the original – YZG), and even though fraternizing with a gentile woman is a very serious matter, it was permitted during wartime (under the specific terms) out of understanding for the hardship endured by the warriors. And since the success of the whole at war is our goal, the Torah permitted the individual to satisfy the evil urge (yetzer ha’ra in the original -YZG), under the conditions mentioned, for the purpose of the success of the whole.”

So. Apparently the Rabbi thinks it's not only a mitzvah, but essential to war. Interesting. How does me going to the territories have anything to do with this? You are trying to say that I would then see Arab women are so inhuman you can't call it rape? What are you saying?

Because I'm not making the "Rape Cases" bit of Ben Gurion's diary up, you see.

But tell me, how do you explain reports like this then:

this is what i get if i click on your link

"There's either been an error, or you're from Israel. This site is not available in Israel because of its disgusting war crimes Humanity will win."

this is childish, ridicules
you can find almost anything on the internet,
your comments are not appropriate,

I am not going to reply anymore, I get very offended with what you are saying. I dont want to go any further,
ill talk to you in more suitable manners...........

You damn well should...

be offended.

Because that way, you might actually spend some time thinking about things. Mind you the only reason I ever changed from being pro-Israel to being anti-Israel or more specifically anti-Zionist, is because I went and *lived* in Israel, and saw for myself. They even molested my son against my will, and then put "Jewish" on his birth certificate in spite of me being an Atheist Dutchman. So you're not the only one who got offended.

I will tell you this:

- Israel ranks quite low on the freedom of the press listings that get published
- Israel is one out of a few countries world-wide that do not publish rape statistics at all to the UN

What concerns me though is that apparently you think it's OK your world view is being censored by your government.

By the way...

Even if the link I posted is dubious, what about the preceding statements from the Army Rabanut, and what about Ilan Pappe's work on the IDF and state archives? Is that childish and ridiculous?

I have family that participated in the "Politionele Acties" in Indonesia. One such family member, still alive, first spent 6 years in a Japanese prison camp where the boy's legs got cut off by Japanese swords if the guards were in a bad mood.

When he was 16 he lied about his age and fought in the Indonesian "Civil War" as one of the KNIL soldiers. They descended on a village from three sides, with him being on the fourth side with a machine gun, mowing down everything that moved. He too saw rape and murder on a civilian population, and he didn't dare go back to Indonesia between 1948 and 2008. He finally took a trip and apologized to everyone and their uncle in the streets, he felt he went back to Indonesia with the burden of history on his shoulders.

There has never been a time in history when rape has not occurred. Specially when you give 18-21 year olds weapons and a position of power. It is simply a fact of life that this will happen somewhere.

I can even understand this. The one thing I can't abide by is hypocrisy.
