הראשון מעולה, ושונה מאוד מהשני. הראשון הוא שילוב של פסיכדליה, ג'אז ופופ\רוק. השני, שגם הוא מצויין הוא שילוב של פרוג, פסיכדליה, אוונגארד וג'אז. בשלישי (שהוא גם הוא מעולה, אבל סובל מסאונד נוראי והוא גם טיפה ארוך מדי) הם להקה שונה לגמרי מבחינה מוזיקלית, אבל השלד של ווייאט-הופר-ראטלדג' נשאר.

IQ ~ SEVEN STORIES INTO NINETY EIGHT IQ`s 1st album (`Seven Stories Into Eight`) from 1982 was originally released on cassette only and was out of print for many years, untill the group decided to reissue it in 1998. For that occasion they also decided to re-record the entire album again in a new version. This release includes both the original and the new version - 16 years apart. Not only does the debut album sound great today, but the expanded new recording shows the fascinating development the group went through. For the many IQ fans this is a major treat! IQ ~ COLOS-SAAL ASCHAFFENBURG GERMANY In 2002 IQ celebrated its 20th anniversary as a group and went for a concert tour to celebrate with the group`s fans. The second noght of the tour (February 16th, 2002) was certainly one of the most magical nights for them and luckily for us all it was all captured on tape. The music just flows and every performance seems to surpass the others. The material covers a selection of tunes up to the (then latest) `The Seventh House` album. 5 items added toady, all great gems from the past now remastered and with bonus material: ATOMIC ROOSTER ~ IN HEARING OF (DELUXE EDITION) 3rd album from 1971, and the last of the first period of the band. Similar to the previous albums, with more great compositions and the dominating organ sound of Vincent Crane. In retrospect this sounds even better and fresher now then it did at the time of its release. A true classic of the genre, as are the two previous ones. ATOMIC ROOSTER ~ MADE IN ENGLAND (DELUXE EDITION) 4th album from 1972, marking the beginning of the second period of the band when the powerful blues and rock singer Chris Farlowe (from Colosseum) joined their ranks. Stylistically they are still very strongly Prog influenced but the singer`s dominance takes them more toward straight-forward rock. Still a very strong release and a formidable example of how it all sounded then. BROWN, ARTHUR/KINGDOM COME ~ JOURNEY 3rd and last album from 1972 by this great group, which pioneered many of the avant-garde Prog developments that would pop-up only many years later. The use of electronics and programmed drums make this one of the first albums to feature them. The material is absolutely amazing and years ahead of its time and Brown`s vocals are stunning as usual. What a pity they did not record more material! DRISCOLL, JULIE/AUGER, BRIAN/TRINITY ~ OPEN (DELUXE EDITION) 2nd album from 1967 by one of the most distinctive female voices ever on the UK scene. Julie Driscoll was undoubtedly the most talented interpretter of soul material in her unique style which mixes soul with jazz and heavy psychedelia. Combined with the amazing talents of the organ player Brian Auger (see his releases), they were deadly. Just listen to Julie`s performance of Donovan`s `Season Of The Witch` - this surely must be one of the highlights of female singing in music`s history. The bonus material includes their amazing psychedelic hit `This Wheel`s On Fire`, penned by Bob Dylan. Absolutely essential in any person`s collection! AUGER, BRIAN/TRINITY ~ DEFINITELY WHAT! (DELUXE EDITION) 1st album from 1969 by this amazingly talented UK organ player. With his profund understanding of jazz and perfect technique, Brian Auger was a prime example of all the vital elements one can expect from a great musician. His trio (called Trinity) worked with the superb singer Julie Driscoll (see her releases), but also recorded separately. The music can be considered as early fusion or instrumental jazz-rock, but the labels just don`t cover the sophistication and the beauty of it - just sit down and listen! Have Fun! 4 fusion items added today: FORMAN, MITCHEL ~ HAND MADE Keyboards player Mitchel Forman is one of the most sophisticated representatives of modern Fusion. Proficient both on acoustic piano and electronic keyboards, he has excellent technique and formidable compositional skills. After stints with the re-formed Mahavishnu Orchestra and other famous bands, he now concentrates on solo career. This album is an excellent example of modern Fusion, with plenty of rhythms and fire as well as elegant solos. MILES, JASON ~ WORLD TOUR Former Miles Davis keyboards player and keyboards programmer (he played on Tutu!) Jason Miles is one of the most respected keyboards players on the US fusion scene. This is his debut album as a leader and it includers a stellar cast of players, including Michael Brecker, Marcus Miller, Lenny White a.m.o. The music smokes with a string funk feel at times and the players do what they know best. BEARD, JIM ~ LOST AT THE CARNIVAL Keyboards player and composer Jim Beard is well known in US Fusion circles. He played with Bill Evans (who performs here), Michael Brecker and many others, and this is his debut album as a leader. He also composed all the material on this album. The music is typical energetic Fusion with great solos (especially the guitar, which is played by Jon Herington) and memorable melodies. HOLZMAN, ADAM ~ OVERDRIVE Adam Holzman (son of Jac Holzman, the legendary Elektra Records producer in the late 60s - Doors, Love, etc.) was exposed to music since his early childhood and it is no wonder that he grew up to be one of the most respected keyboards players in the US. He participated in a myriad recording sessions and for 4 years (1985-1989) was a member of the Miles Davis band as it`s musical director.
