WiFi ושונות בטורונטו

שלום לכולם.
אוטוטו ממריאים לטורונטו ויש כמה שאלות למי שגם אוטוטו נוסע או למי שלא מכבר הגיע, וזוכר איך מתארגנים על הדברים הבאים:
1. ביטוח - בשלושת החודשים הראשונים לא מקבלים ביטוח מהמדינה. יש המלצות לחברה/סוכן ביטוח לאותה תקופה ?
2. בנק - יש המלצות לבנק כזה או אחר ? איך הדברים עובדים בקנדה, מה מומלץ ממה שאתם מכירים/שמעתם ?
3. אינטרנט ופלפון - אני אשמח להמלצות גם בנושאים האלו. להגיע לדירה ולהיות בלי אינטרנט בימינו יכול להיות די בעייתי... יש אפשרות להזמין משהו כבר מהארץ ?

Bank & Internet

I like the Royal Bank and Canada Trust. Canada Trust is open on Sundays too, which is a plus. Some banks offer incentives to new immigrants and to new clients, so go in and ask what they can offer you before deciding on a bank.

As far as Internet - being without Internet when you get here is not as problematic as you may think. You can access the Internet and use their computers at any public library, and if you come with a laptop, you can access wi-fi for free at any public library too. Find the location of the nearest library, and take your time to decide which company you'd like to use and what package would suit you best. Some people like to get all of the services from one compamy while others do not. Personally, I only use Bell Canada for my basic phone line (because it's reliable), but I would never use Bell for anything else. I am currently not connected to the Internet at home. However, I would need it urgently once I am back home. I haven't yet decided who to go with.

If you are going to start looking for a job - look for an Employment Resource Centre close to where you live. They will help you re-write your resume and cover letter for free in a Canadian format. You can also use their computers and print and photocopy for free. The best website for job search is www.indeed.ca
