urgest employment question

One of those nanny agencies offers to get me into the caregivers programm. That means that I can have a legal status in 3 months and permenant residency in 2 years. Now of course they are charging a FORTUNE for that. Has anyone here knows anything about this? Are you guarenteed legal status and PR thru the program, or is it just a scheme? Is it easier than applying on your own as a skilled worker thru the embassy in Tel Aviv? Are there any cases of people who applied as skilled workers thru the embassy and got turned down even if they had the proper education and work experience? I'm just totally confused here and needs to make a quick decision.

It's real easy

Hi. I applied for myself on Tel Aviv embassy. I am skilled worker, married, with good english, good recommendations, some money and B.A and M.Sc. With all this I have succeeded to get an immigration visa (last year). I applied in early Feb and got the visa papers on Late June. I didn't have to go to the interview so it helped a lot. But, all this was before they changed the immigration laws. It is real simple through the embassy. I think that you will have better chance with immigration than with work permit but don't take my word. Check it. Good luck, Itay

oh, about 10 times or so. I get 78 points. (education, work experience and knowing both english and French) So my question is, is it worth it to "risk" it and apply thru Tel Aviv, or go with the cregiver program thru here?

I read the web page (which I'm basically familiar with). I am very confused as to what to do. Shall I take a "risk" and apply for PR in Tel Aviv, or go with the caregiver program. If I apply in TA and succeed, it will be faster, and probably a bit cheaper.. If I apply thru the program, I am bound to someone by contract for two years, and I have to pay fees to them, upfront, btw.

it's not about "an easy way"

They are not saying it's an easy way. they are saying this a long (two years) and it takes a comittment.So I don't know what to do. Go for the embassy way, but risk it, or do it the long way, but with less risks, it appears.

Noa, These agencies come and go. The fact that you have a contract is basically meaningless. By the time you are eligible for your PR, they might be out of business and you would have to go through the entire procedure on your own despite having paid them a hefty fee. You should never commit to paying someone for finding you a job. There are some deceptive employment agencies that are always searching for desperate people to take advantage of. As I have already explained to you, if you look, you can find plenty of domestic jobs that you can apply for on your own. Besides, if you have never worked as a caregiver, you might hate it and not even be able to last two whole years. Your statement that you have no other options makes no sense. You are single. You have a degree. At 27 you must have some professional experience. Your use of the English language in messages posted at both forums suggests that English is your native language. By looking for shortcuts you are simply looking for trouble and complicating things for yourself. estee

For your detailed reply. That's the very thing I keep saying: why, at 27 years old, I have to pay someone to find me a job I am WAY overqualified to. Then, of course, there is the problem nobody would hire me without legal status, and that may take a long while if I do this on my own. My work experience includes mainly teaching in schools. But the hitch is that according to what I gather from people here (and other boards) is that they are asking for FULL TIME employment record, while some of the major work I've done was by contract and part time. So I really don't know what to do here. If I know for sure that I'll get my PR based on my education, work experience and language skills (fluent in both English and French)I'll definitely work under the table now until my papers come thru. But then, of course, there is always the risk of not being approved. Hence my dillema here. So I'm still left hangin' here.
