The hi-tech situation here

is the same as in Israel, since it's a global market. If you have exceptional, specific, qualities, which are in demand at the moment, you'll get a job in 1 week (I know of such a case and I'll let him elaborate here, should he wish so) I found this job as a programmer in 2 months. It was the first and only interview I was invited to. My resume still is in the market, but I haven't heard from recruiters since. It may well be that my case doesn't represent the situation, since I know a bit of everything, but not deeply enough about a single subject. I have a Master degree in Computer Enginerring and 8+ years of various professional experience. I sold my laptop cheaply because I wanted to buy a better, desktop machine, before it gets unusable. I got $620 for it, which is less than a monthly rent, just worth a handheld. I suggest you come first without the family, to look for a job. It may be tougher to be far away from them for a while, but you have less to lose if it doesn't work out. Hey, you can even get my bachelor apartment for a discount
