Immortality for a wizard...

What if you never grew old? What if you could never die? Imagine the possibilities...Imagine the amount of knowledge you could have accumlulate and use. Of course there are some disadvantages to... But since what my be a disadvantage for me may not be for another, I´ll leave you to think about them yourselves. So, what do you say? Which of you would like to be immortal and which one would not? (Don´t forget to say why)

Not sure

I am not sure anymore. when I was younger all I wanted to do all day is to learn and my greatest dream was to know all and be immortal, after all it comes together, if I am immortal I have time to learn everything and I know everything I know how to become immortal. Also we would have all the time in the world to do everything. I could leave school and come back in 10, 100, 10000 ect. years. But I am not so sure anymore, my dream has changed from knowing all to be happy, just happy. To leave on an island with beautiful women and all my needs. But then I think, what are my needs? What makes me happy? Like all men - women, also I enjoy eating, and being with my friends. But still I get a great joy and satisfaction from reading and article about magic, discoveries, inventions and break throughs. Just last week I read and heard on TV the new discoveries about Mars, and it was so much fun to talk about it with my friend. But now we need to wait 10 years until they send the first man to Mars. So yes, it would be nice to be immortal and to have all the time in the world to learn, do and experience everything. But when is it too much? If I would stay 10 years old for 5 million years I would have learned everything for sure. But becoming a teenager took my pation from learning to having fun and sex and eating. And it seems that by becoming a grown up all you want is to be with your loved ones while resting all the time. I want to learn, experience, see, travel both in space and in time, to see both the past and the future, I want more time. But immortality seems too much as I grow older.

Well

If I never grew old and never die I were rich in sadness for my circle of friends and beloved ones who do grow old and do die. Immortality has it´s advantages (sure, you can live forever to see what would be the next evoulotional level of Coca-Cola) - but like anything else it also has it´s disadvantages, and when I think about it I prefer to die with those I love and loves me rather than to watch them die and live with the depression. Why writing in English? Hebrew´s too "Lesser" for ya´?

אני רוצה לחיות הרבה מאוד כן הרבה יותר ממאה שנה אז אפשר להגיד שלנצח עד שיימאס בקשר לאלה שאתה אוהב הם גם ככה ימותו ואת תחווי את זה אז למה גם את צריכה למות? המעגל הוא שאנשים נכנסים לחייך ויוצאים אנשים שאתה אוהב ואנשים שלא

דווקא אני מחכה ומצפה ל"מוות" הגשמי

של העולם או הגלגול הזה, כמובן שאני רוצה להכין את עצמי לזה, ולהגיע לרמות רוחניות גבוהות יותר, ולהתקרבות לאל בכדי שההליכה לממד הרוחני תהיה קלה ונוחה יותר עבורי. לכן חיי נצח בעיני ממש לא באים בחשבון, אני חושב על כל מה שאפשר להפסיד בכך שנתקעים בעולם הזה למשך כל כך הרבה זמן...

מה פתאום!!! אני מקווה שאמרת את זה

עם חיוך, כי לא לזה התכוונתי. אני מאוד אוהב את עצמי (וחברים שלי יכולים להעיד על כך) וגם מאוד אוהב ונהנה מהחיים. יכול להיות שקצת הגזמתי עם הצפייה למוות, אני לא ממש מצפה לזה, אני פשוט לא יבהל כשזה יגיע. ושוב, אני מעריך את החיים שניתנו לי.

אני מאמינה בגלגול נשמות ככה שאני לעולם לא "אמות". אבל את החיים האלה הייתי רוצה לסיים בסביבות גיל ה-65, אני חושבת שזה מספיק...

אני חושב שזה לא נכון....

מי שחי חיי נצח, יכולת הלמידה שלו מוגבלת!!!! כל הרעיון בגלגול נשמות הוא ללמוד מההוויה ונקודת המבט של צורות חיים שונות. בכל פעם שאנו מתגלגלים לגוף חדש יש לנו את ההזדמנות ללמוד דברים חדשים שלא יכולנו ללמוד בגוף אחר. אי לכך ובהתאם לזאת חיי נצח בגוף אחד מגבילים את מכלול הלמידה שהעולם יכול להציג בפנינו, ולכן גם שמירה על הטבע ומניעה של היכחדות זנים הינה הכרחית לקיומנו שלנו. בברכת אור, Dia Leoghann
