Another way to look at it is so: The army has interest in 5 years of doctors, and, therefore, are willing to put a lot of money into us. As an Atudai in some cases the university provides dorms more easily, (yet not less expensive). As Vladi said, if you can make it into the university, the army probably won´t stop you. Yet if you are below the required average, you will need to be outstanding in the interview (if you get invited, at all). The army had a nice get-together for us, in Herzelia, before we went to the interviews. It helped. I am sceptical if the army bends the arm of the universities, but I think that they must accept a certain number of Atudaim, if they meet the basic requirements. I hope we have been helpful. Oh.
