3 items added today, but WHAT items!: HENDRIX, JIMI ~ THE RAINBOW BRIDGE CONCERT Long considered the `holy-grail` amongst Hendrix collectors, this album contains the complete Rainbow Bridge concert filmed in Hawaii on July 30th, 1970. The film, which is available since many years, features just a small part of the music included here, so the joy to be able to hear so much prime quality never previously avilable material is sky high. Hendrix, Mitchell & Cox storm the stage with unprecedented power and virtuosity. The two concert sets comprise of completely different tunes, so there are no repeated songs at all. An absolute gem not only for Hendrix many admireres, but to any serious rock enthusiast. HENDRIX, JIMI ~ AXIS OUTTAKES The tracks on this album represent all the surviving outtakes and alternate mixes from the recordings, which form the second Jimi Hendrix Experience album `Axis Bold As Love`. After the explosive debut, `Are You Experienced`, Axis offered a more melodic, lyrical counterpoint and demonstrated quite clearly that Jimi Hendrix was more musician than wild man. It is amazing to hear so much of never previously available studio material here, which gives a unique perspective of the creative process involved in creating this magnificent music. Breathtaking and an absolute must to any Hendrix fan! HENDRIX, JIMI ~ STOCKHOLM CONCERT Recorded on January 9, 1969 this magnificent album captures two sets of the Experience, after they had been together for almost two years and perfected their act to the finest detail. Hendrix plays like there is no tomorrow and between the two sets all the greatest songs they ever recorded get a fresh treatment, full of imagination, virtuosity and imagination. 4 items added today: TIEMKO ~ OCEAN 2nd album from 1990 by this pioneering French Prog band, one of the first bands of the second generation. This instrumental and somewhat `dark` music was quite innovative and daring at the time and it aged well, which means that it is a damn good listen today as well. Stylistically it moves from KC to jazz-rock to conteporary classical. Very much worth a listen. RUNAWAY TOTEM ~ ANDROMEDA 3rd album from 1999 by this Italian band, which is often referred to as `Italian Magma`. There is no doubt that RT`s music is very Magmaish in style and sound, but it also has its own characteristics. With additional influences ranging from GG, KC and even Deus Ex-Machina (another great Italian band), they storm and rage through the lengthy tracks with vigor and intelligence. An absolute must from Magma fans. SCENARIO ~ A FEARFUL SYMMETRY Debut album by this powerful and talented Italian Prog-Metal band. At first the band sounds very familiar to Dream Theatre, but careful listening reveals subtle differences and of course the very Italian music approach, especially in the melody lines. Definitely a prime example of the style at its best. For DT fans this is a must have! LOCAL 7 ~ SUBSTRAT Debut album from 2001 by this French Fusion band or rather duo. Obvious influences from bands like Brand X, Spyro Gyra and Allan Holdsworth, but also a lot of original ideas and some excellent playing, especially in the guitar department.
