Hey Does anyone know why I can't write turmoil in plural? turmoils... for some reason my word says it's a mistake and there isn't a plural form in the dictionary. thanks.
But I think you can't have it in plural. How do you want to use it? if you say "the country is in turmoil", which is the most common usage of the word as far as I know, then what do you need a plural form for?

המשפט שאני מתרגמת הוא זה: "ירושלים, שעומדת עד עצם היום הזה במרכז ההיסטוריה האנושית, חזקה עליה שכל תהפוכות אנוש, מן האמונה לכפירה, מן הספר לכסף, מן הרוח לגשמיות וחוזר חלילה - יבואו בה על ביטויים גם בסגנונות בנייה"... i know, weird sentence.....
at all, in my opinion. Turmoil means "unrest" or "confusion", but here the תהפוכות אנוש means drastic changes, reversals, that sort of thing. You need a word or phrase that has to do with cyclic or evolutionary changes.
