yeah, I know this is more like a forum to help people with their english and/or english lessons. but when I saw this forum I thought this is a realy cool forum so I wanted to join (nevertheless -did I write the word OK?- it could help me when I'll need to ask questions about thing in english..

hmm, and if I already started a new topic, I was just wandering, since I was reading "The Hobbit" (and still am...>>) in english I remember there was a word "midsummer eve" that I didn't really know what it means exactly...

what does it means? I mean... I know what eve means, but what does midsummer means and what do the two words together means (if it means something diferent..)? sorry for this maby very foolish question, and fot the probably many miss-spelling(?) in this message. not to mention that it's probably because I'm very tierd and not in a very sane state of mind... LOL

The meanings are:

Eve=Evening. Midsummer=middle of the summer. Try to align your text, as it makes English much more legible.​

*aligning* and about the word I asked about. I guessed that this is what it means... but in hebrew, to what midsummer eve does it means? I mean, I know (think) it's some kind of a party, but what party exectly? -and I'm still wandering about it because it kind of very tells about what happened there in the story...

As far as I know

there is no special cultural-based meaning for the term "midsummer eve". As someone already explained it simply means an evening that takes place in the middle of the summer. כמו שבעברית נהוג לכתוב: "לילה בשלהי החורף", למשל.
