Flight from Israel to Switzerland with an LSA
Yesterday, Friday 5.9.2014 at 14:17, the wheels of our 340kg (empty weight) Light Sport Aircraft gently touched Israeli ground again, in Haifa international airport, 33 minutes ahead of the carefully planned schedule. With it - a wonderful flying adventure came to it's safe end. This year's European flight adventure was rich with experiences, emotions, lesson-learned and expanded our flying horizon in many aspects. It again proved that it's not the size that matters, but the will, the plan and the execution. The link below shows the complete flight track. In 8 days, we flew 6840 kilometers in 39 flying hours. Our route was via 6 countries and 11 airfields and airports, and in places where almost no Israeli planes fly. The flight was in various and challenging weather conditions, over open sea, and across the Alps. We were probably the first Israeli plane to ever land in the mountain airport of Gstaad in a narrow but beautiful valley in Switzerland. We met helpful, friendly and warm friends and pilots along our way in all the countries we flew through. We are thankful to all those that helped us, as it's the people that matter, not just the machine..
