The current antiterrorist strategy proved undoubtfully inefficient and counterproductive in terms of increasing human and material losses and socio- econoimic havock that was wrought on Israeli socity.This sraregy was based on a false assumption that escalating military pressure on the PA would result in positive responses on their part or would decrease motivation of terrorist organization acting under the PA auspices to continue fighting .This policy was combined with promises of recognizing Palestinians's rights for an independant state. All these measures would have worked out had we have dealing with normal human beings who act and react logically and have normal yuman feelings . Our leaders still hope that the Palestinians will one day realize that they will not achieve anything by terror and then will change their attitudes.What is happenning in reality is just the opposite .Two years of terror brought about " Road map" and Israeli recognition of the 2 states solution In addition Israeli unilateral withdrawl from Lebanon and prospects of a similar outcome on the territories make the Palestinians think that the terror pays.Only a decisive and total military victory and dismantling of their terrorist regimes will solve the problem , both in Ramallah and in Bagdad.
