G-d forbid the act, men made the culture
And it's up to us to convince people that the two are different. There are many factors why orthodox jews have issues with being inclusive of gays. Because marriage is such a central part of jewish society, the idea of a man who might not want to marry a woman is difficult to understand. It's hard for parents to accept children whose lives will be somewhat different than the way they grew up. But after a while, they come to understand. It will probably take longer and in the case of some people, it won't go well, but that's why you work together. That's why you create safe spaces where people can talk about what they're dealing with, with other people dealing with the same things, to give each other support that things will get better if we work for it. Eventually, we have to figure this out, because the situation right now isn't working. But there is an answer, a way of keeping true to torah and true to ourselves.
