? a , an when? before noun that we can number it ,for example a book, a child we are putting this before -an a,e,i,o,u for example: an apple, an elephant exceptional:: when the word suonds just like that: u we should use with a not an for example a university, a uniform, a unique with those verbs as honest, hour, honour we use it -an before for example an honest, an hour, an honour and with nouns that we can't number them -don't use with a,an before for example: life, love, coffee, oil

המשפט שנתת הוא מקרה מעניין: "meaning" יכול להיות גם count noun (משמעות אחת) וגם non-count noun (פשר, באופן כללי). לפני count noun אפשר לשים a/an, לפני non-count לא. צריך לשים לב למושגים מופשטים שהרבה פעמים מיודעים בעברית ובשפות אחרות, אך לא באנגלית: "האהבה היא יפהפיה" מיתרגמת ל:
