המורה שלי לאנגלית הסבירה לנו שכיום כמעט ולא משתמשים בshall. אז ניסיתי למצוא תחליף, דוגמא : shall i open the window? אפשר במקום would you like me to open window? האם המשפט השני תקני? ואולי אני יכול למצוא תחליף יותר קצר?

The obsolote use of the word "shall" in English was also in the Future Tense: Subject + will + v1, but if the subject is "I" or "we", you do NOT use "will", but "shall". Up until a decade or two, if you marked "will" in the "inappropriate" place it would have been considered as a mistake in English exams. So instead of "shall" you can just use "will". If you are referring to "shall" as a modal (that's the modern usage of the word), however, you could use "would", "should or any other modal that seems to do the job.
