אני פונה אלייכם בבקשה- כתבתי שיר באנגלית ורציתי שמישהו יבדוק אם יש שגיאות בדקדוק או בכתיב אז הינה השיר: we are so close and yet so far away we share so much but at the same time so little we both lonely want each other so much... we've said goodbye and i thought it was over but nothing has changed i still remember your kisses and the smell of your perfume remember your sweet and tender touch maybe God had something to do with this thah i can't forget you maybe it's his fult that i'm yours forever you're my forbidden love i keep looking for you and always end up losing you

יכול להיות שיש לך עוד טעות קטנטונת

אני חושב שבמקום להגיד i thought it was over צריך להגיד and i thought it had been over יכול להיות שאני טועה אבל הבנתי שלא מקובל להשתמש באותו משפט בשתי פעולות ב-past simple כאשר פעולה אחת התרחשה בזמן מסויים והשנייה בזמן שקדם לו...

לא בהכרח...

משתמשים ב"עבר מושלם" בעיקר כשחשוב להדגיש את הפרש הזמן בין שתי פעולות בעבר. כשזה לא ממש עקרוני אפשר ונהוג להשתמש פעמיים בזמן עבר פשוט. במקרה הזה אין לזה חשיבות וזה רק יסרבל את המשמעות.
