את המשפט הראשון אי אפשר לתרגם מילה במילה והוא צריך להיות-

This man is on drugs. or- This man takes drugs.​

המשפט השני-

The man feels good because he's addicted to drugs. or The man feels good because he just took drugs.​

הוא לא יכול לעזוב את הסם-

He can't get off the drugs unless he checks into a rehabilitation center. (leave is used for a place) or- unless he'll get help at a rehabilitation center. (weaning is not to give a baby breast milk anymore)​
