הדרך הכי טובה (לדוליז ריאליסטיות) להצללה, היא להתבונן. למשל: חברה שלך יושבת לידך ויש לה כפלים בחולצה, אז את מסתכלת איך הכפלים האלו משפיעים על החולצה, איפה יש אור ואיפה חושך, באילו צורות הם הולכים. ובשיער אתה מסתכל איך בנויים השוונצים, איפה יש אור וזה... וגם לגבי הצללות על: אם נניח השעון שלך יושב לך צמוד על היד, והאור בא מלמעלה, אז אין על היד צל. בטח כבר כולן גילו את זה אבל הייתי צריכה לחלוק את הפיסת מידע הזאת....
