כשרק הגענו ליוסטון , נכנסנו לחנות, מתוך תקווה למצוא מוצרים מישראל.מהר מאד יצאנו. בפתח החנות ישב איש דת מוסלמי שאסף כסף. (לשחרור ירושלים?...) ממש לא איכפת לי שהמוצרים שלהם זולים . אני לא אממן מי שתורם כסף לארגוני הטרור! גיא, האם היית בפניקיה? איך התרשמת?

Dear Friends, Yesterday was a day that none of us will ever forget. Only sixteen minutes from what should have been a triumphant landing in Florida, the Columbia 7 disintegrated in space, ending the lives of seven courageous men and women. We join with all Americans in mourning the loss of Rick Husband, William McCool, Kalpana Chawla, David Brown, Michael Anderson, Laurel Clark, and Ilan Ramon, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to their grief-stricken families. There are times these last few weeks that we have looked to the heavens, knowing the Columbia was above us. Today, we look to the heavens again, this time to find our emotional strength and our spiritual footing. When we wonder where we will find the strength to absorb and somehow come to grips with this terrible tragedy, the psalmist assures us we will because we are people of faith, a people whose tradition has always been a wellspring of inspiration and hopefulness that has enabled us to survive every painful loss and affliction we have suffered. It is through our faith that we Jews always deal with painful losses in our lives. And so it is right that we as a community should gather in a synagogue when we seek to share in a communal farewell to these seven beautiful souls. I invite you, therefore, to be with me and our entire Jewish community on Monday evening in the Sanctuary of Beth Yeshurun for a memorial service at 7:30 P.M. Because we expect a large number of people to attend this service, I urge you to give yourself enough time to comfortably park and walk to the synagogue. Today our prayers are with the families of those who yesterday perished, and with the thousands of NASA workers who worked tirelessly to make this journey as safe as they knew how. Our prayers are with the Jewish community of Clear Lake, the majority of whom work in NASA-related jobs. And our prayers, too, are with the people of Israel, who have endured so much hurt and heartache these last two-and-a-half years and whose hearts were bursting with pride in their celebration of Ilan Ramon's participation in this great mission; they now stand with the people of the United States in stunned silence. May God strengthen all those whose hearts are filled with sorrow on this most painful and somber moment. 1. באיזו טמפ התנור? 2. איך נוצר החור? אתה משטח שני כדורים (בנפרד) ו"מדביק" את ה"עיגולים" (לפני הכנסה לתנור)? 3. המשפט "מערבבים הכל ביחד, לשים" לא "ניגמר" לך המשפט באמצע? האם התכוונת לומר "לשים במקרר"?

תשובות לגבי הפיתות

אין ספק שהחור של הפיתה ראוי לו להקרא אחד משמונת פלאי תבל. שנים של מחקר מעמיק הובילו למבוי סתום - החור של הפיתה הוא תופעת טבע שדי בה כדי להוכיח קיומו של בורא עולם. החור פשוט נוצר. פשוט כך. כדי שהחור ייוצר, התנור צריך להיות מאוד חם - אני אופה את הפיתות בטמפ´ המקסימאלית של התנור, כשהוא כבר ממש חם. אני אופה על תבנית (מקומחת קלות) שהיתה בתנור - כך שהיא לוהטת. הפיתה מקבלת מכת חום ממעל ומכת חום מתחת. תוך דקות ספורות מתחולל נס חור הפיתה - היא מתחילת לתפוח ולהראות כמו בלון, כעבור זמן קצר כדאי להוצא את הפיתה כדי שלא תהיה טוסט בלון. כל האפיה מאוד קצרה (ואל תשאלו אותי כמה בדיוק - עד שמוכן). ה"מערבבים כל יחד, לשים" נכתב בשתי שורות - מערבבים את החומרים ואז לשים את הבצק, לבצק חלק וגמיש. ממש לא לשים במקרר - אחרי שלשים (בשין ימנית) כדאי לשים (בשין שמאלית) את הבצק במקום חמים להתפחה. בהצלחה. ספרו איך יצא!

I hope this does not spoil the tast

After the lisha and during rising, the batzek has many tyny air bubbles in it. When you put it into the preheated oven, the exterior surface gets the first blast of heat affectively sealing and slightly hardening it. Than the heat is conducted to the inside where the air bubbles expand and the thin and soft layers between the holes tear and combine, while the heat propogates inside by convection (hasa´a). The air pushes the outer skin that maintains sufficient modulus of elasticity not to develope cracks. That is one unlikely explanation (I already caught one inaccuracy), too many years since "chomarim vetahalichim" and the memories of the taste of pita @ Abulafya´s are much more vivid. We also know who bent the banana, but who ate out the holes in swiss cheese? m.​

יש לי טחינה גולמית בבית ומשם מה לא מצליחה אני לא מצליחה לשחזר את הטעם.. אז קדימה, ת´שלח לי מתכון. תודה!!!

אני שמה בתוך כף , כף וחצי של טחינה

גולמית לימון אחד סחוט, קצת שמן זית, מלח פלפל ומערבבת את העיסה היטב, ואז אני מוסיפה קצת מים כדי להפוך את זה ליותר נוזלי, והרבה פטרוזיליה, ויוצא מעולה....
