אני חושב על לימודי תואר שני בקנדה ורציתי לשאול מס שאלות:

1. האם זה אפשרי להתגורר בקנדה עם המשפחה כמה שנים לצורך תואר שני? (בהנחה שאני מתקבל ללימודים..). כמו כן, לאשתי יש דרכון בריטי (וזה אומר שיש לה אזרחות בריטית..אני טועה?) האם זה עוזר במשהו?
2. לגבי מחייה: אנחנו זוג +3. אשתי אחות עם תואר. בהנחה שאני אהיה בלימודים ואוכל לעבוד באופן חלקי ביותר..האם אפשרי להסתדר עם משכורת של אחות? כמה בכלל מרוויחה אחות? אנחנו לא מפונקים מדי אבל גם לא רוצים להיקלע לקשיים..
3. סתם אם יש לכם עוד טיפים,מחשבות והארות אשמח לשמוע..

1. כן. בהנחה שתתקבל ללימודים תוכל לקבל ויזת לימודים (אם אין סיבוכים בלתי צפויים) ורשיון עבודה עבור אשתך. הדרכון הבריטי לא ממש עוזר.
2. קרוב לודאי שאשתך לא תוכל לעבוד כאחות בקנדה. המקצוע שלה דורש רישוי ולא פשוט לקבל רישוי כזה (זה יכול להשתנות מפרובינציה אחת לשניה אבל בכל מקרה זה תהליך ארוך ולא קל- ולפי מה שאני שומע הגילדות המקצועיות שמפקחות על הנושא הולכות ומקשות את העניין)

Canada does not make it that difficult for internationally trained nurses to be licensed to work in Canada. There is a shortage of nurses in Canada. Canadian nurses are being aggressively recruited by American, Australian, and Middle Eastern hospitals. American hospitals offer them higher salaries and better working conditions, and they fly them over to see the hospitals and the lifestyle that is being offered to them. There is even a Toronto based job fair company that holds big job fairs twice a year in major hotels throughout Canada, and hospitals and big international nurse recruitment companies from just about everywhere have a presence at these job fairs, and they compete with one another for nurses. I was even contacted with attempts to recruit me from as far away as Dubai, and I am not even a nurse...

Foreign and Canadian nurses

.Unlike in the past, when you go into any Toronto teaching hospital these days, you'll notice that many of the nurses and other healthcare professionals have a very distinct foreign accent, mostly Slavic or Iranian, and that they have been trained outside of Canada. I don't know any unemployed nurses.

However, I have met many Canadian nurses who are considering relocating to the US or Australia for better paying job opportunities. In addition to knowing the Canadians who are determined to keep the nurses in Canada, I know the senior executives of the major international healthcare recruitment companies that are recruiting the nurses, as well as the president and founder of the Canadian Healthcare Job Fair company, who is making it possible for the nurses and potential Canadian and international employers to meet. I have met many Canadian nursing students, who have graduated, and I have also met many foreign nurses who have successfully passed the Ontario exams. They have all found jobs.

I don't know any Israeli nurses in Canada.

You don't have to agree with me

I am not defending the Canadian healthcare system. There have been cuts to healthcare, in general, and they are affecting patients. However, the majority of Canadian nurses are amazing, and they go beyond the call of duty. They are hard working and they silently tolerate abuse from ungrateful patients. I can't say the same about senior Canadian healthcare executives. But, this is not the place to elaborate any further.

I only remained at these Forums for one reason - because of those who are in need of information. The silent majority very rarely defends me.
