Thank your lucky stars
You have been in Canada for only two weeks and you already have a job offer. Your father and his wife have opened their home to you and to your kids. However, you feel all alone and you can't take it much longer. Instead of acting like a grown-up, you have decided to return immediately with your kids to Israel. Your main complaint seems to be focused on the fact that your stepmother is trying to control your kids and tells them when they can or cannot have desert... Have you tried to put yourself in your stepmother's shoes and think of how you would feel if an entire family moved into your home? All she is doing is trying to be kind and helpful. Though she might not understand that you regard her input as controlling - with a bit of tact, you can resolve all the unimportant issues and try to concentrate on what really matters. Try to appreciate the fact that you have a family and that your family cares. With one out of two marriages ending in divorce, there are many single mothers in Canada and they seem to manage fine. Toronto will look different to you after the first week of May. How long it might take you to make new friends depends entirely on you and on the circles that you would be moving in. It would also depend on what you are looking for in a friend. Good luck! estee
