Same as we do in other courses, they have to know the principle and then we ask on a new factor that changes the equilibrium. We learn about a change in the saving rate, so now we asked about a change in the coefficient of the production function which was defined in the question. There is nothing new about asking about a change in the equilibrium in a new situation. All the questions in mechirim and most of the courses are analysis of a new setup and they have to analyze it. Of course we gave them the analytical instruments to solve it so there is no excuse for not knowing how to solve the simple question using the analytical framework we demand they should know how to use (and if not they cannot pass the course). The exam is not a speech based on the material that you have to memorize, but we check the ability of the student to use the concepts we tout them in a new set up (not really new because all the concepts where previously defined, they just have to know how to connect between them). And certainly, the question fulfilled all the requisites
