why did you open this place?

Now I don't understand. You live in the U.S. you can speak english everyday, then why did you open a forum in English? was it for you- that you will be able to speak English with people from Israel or was it for us- to help us getting better in English?

Well, since three of us are

currently living in English- speaking countries I am not completely sure to whom this was directed . However I can tell you that there are some great advantages to having this forum be in English. For start you can write in it from work, or from computers that do not support Hebrew, you can also feel much cooler moderating a forum with a catch, and it just generally looks estheticly pleasing. But now seriously, it is a place where we can celebrate the beauty of the English language, while we get to know other cool people and practice our writting.

As you know

... English is not quite a foreign language in Israel. It officially is, of course, but we get exposed to it a whole lot in our daily lives. And some people, believe it or not, have come to like English a lot and want to be able to improve theirs. And what better way to do that than by practicing?

Did you think of the fact

That if they have great knowlage about the English language - this forum will be a good way to pass their knowlage to people who aren't as fortunate?

Because we thought it was a good

idea, basically. I have moderated #740 (English for learners) for about a year, still hopelessly trying to make it be in English, when I realised that the only way to get this to work is separating those who want to learn English in Hebrew from those who want to practise their English or just chat in English. The management disagreed, but then there was a new management and they agreed, and Gaily wanted to join me as a moderator, so that's why we are here. It could've been anyone else, really---my being a moderator doesn't mean that my English level was tested and found to be perfect... nor that the original purpose was just to help people get better in English.
