U of Victoria
Hi, I study at UVic. According to the latest McLeans survay, it is ranked among the three top schools in Canada -- that is, before Toronto, McGill and UBC. The univesity itself is small, which makes it very homey and easy to find your way in. Victoria itself is not a cheap city, although it's somewhat cheaper than Vancouver. In case it matters, the weather in Victoria is probably the best weather in Canada, and even though it has been snowing here over the last two days, it's extremely rare. And one last thing, Victoria is located at the Southern tip of Vancouver Island, which is near Vancouver but not in Vancouver (about an hour on the ferry). אבל אני חושב שהצדק עם נועה, ב- comprehensive ויקטוריה ממוקמת שלישית אחרי ווטרלו ו- Guelph שבאונטריו. UBC ו- U of T לא מצויינות בכלל ברשימה הזו, למרות שלי נראה שמקליין לא עושים את העבודה שלהם כמו שצריך השנה, לאור ריבוי האונ' הפחות נחשבות ומיקומם במקומות גבוהים שלא כבשנים קודמות, בניגוד למגמת האונ' הגדולות.

דניאל תודה רבה על המידע. בדקתי את האתר והוא נותן הרבה מידע ואפילו מאורגן היטב. אבל מטבע הדברים עדיף לשמוע דעה יותר אוביקטיבית. אני רוצה ללמוד שם מנהל עסקים לתואר שני ומעונין לברר את הנושאים הבאים: מה עלויות המחיה בויקטוריה לחודש (בערך)? מה הסיכוי להשתלב בשוק העבודה בקנדה אחרי לימודים? הם מספרים על CO-OP program האם היא פתוחה לסטודנטים זרים? הבנתי שאי אפשר לעבוד במהלך הלימודים (בגלל עומס התוכנית המלאה) אבל האם יש אפשרות לשנה של Practical training כמו בארה"ב אחרי לימודים? בקיצור אם יש לך תשובות לחלק מהשאלות אשמח לשמוע ותודה מראש !

Hi again, I'm afraid I can't really help you in this regard, since I'm a student at the faculty of Humanities. As far I know, only Canadian students can become part of the co-op program, and I really have no idea about the job market in your field. The best thing to do would be to call or email the department your interested in and ask more specific questions. From my experience, the administrative staff is extremely nice and helpful. As for living costs, 1000-1200 Canadian dollars might allow you to live quite comfortably in graduate student terms (not including tuition fees). Take care, Daniel
