ב-76 כשהפריטי טינגס התפרקו ה- scorpions הציעו לו עבודה בלהקתם, נסע לגרמניה ולאחר כמה ימים ארז את הגיטרה שלו במזוודה - זה לא בשבילי אמר..
מישהו הקרוב אליו כתב היום:
Pete was his own worst enemy and, like the PTs, was a massive under-achiever. He could have been so much more.
It hurts to see the cardboard muppets who parade around today as 'stars' or 'celebs'.
I spent a lot of time with him over the past 2 years and, whether it was dissatisfaction or some other demon, he preferred being alone with a bottle of vodka than most other things.
He died alone in a one-bed flat and may have been dead for 7-10 days before he was found.
A sad end to a superb musician and a really nice guy whose innocence was destroyed by the industry he worked in
