PHOEBE lies on her back under a sheet, stomach swollen, body wracked with pain. PHOEBE This can´t be happening.... this isn´t happening. A surgeon hurries over. The EMT´s stop the gurney. SURGEON What´s going on? EMT Abrupted placenta... possible prolapsed cord. She´s five centimeters dialted. SURGEON Tell O.R. to set up for a crash C-section. PHOEBE No...wait! I´m only two months pregnant!! The Surgeon looks up at the EMT for confirmation. EMT She´s full term. The surgeon nods. The EMT pushes Phoebe toward O.R. PHOEBE No... I´m not... You´re wrong. She looks down at her full-term belly under the sheet, surprised by what she sees. PHOEBE (CONT´D) Where are my sisters? I need my sisters! As the gurney disappears through another set of doors: INT. HOSPITAL - OPERATING ROOM - MINUTES LATER Two Doctors assist. All wear surgical masks and caps. SURGEON Nasel Oxygen, please. We´re less than a minute from skin to baby. Scalpel.... The FIRST DOCTOR a black woman, hands him a scalpel as the surgeon lowers the blade to Phoebe´s belly... ANGLE - PHOEBE Hooked up to a nasal oxygen tube. she lies in bed with a raised sheet blocking the surgery from her view. Phoebe looks pleadingly at a kind NURSE by her side. PHOEBE Where´re my sisters? Did you call them? NURSE There was no time. Phoebe, terrified, looks down at the sheet. PHOEBE´S POV SILHOUETTES of the surgical team can be seen working their hands inside Phoebe´s stomach. SURGEON Uterine incision. Another streach please. The second doctor helps pull open Phoebe´s stomach. ANGLE - PHOEBE Closes her eyes, looking sick. NURSE There´s nothing to be afraid of. The nurse takes her hand. Phoebe fights back tears. PHOEBE I´m afraid of whats inside me. SURGEON I can see the baby. Phoebe forces herself to look down. PHOEBE Oh, Please God let him be normal! Please, please, Please... PHOEBE´S POV A silhouette of the surgeon slowly pulls out the baby. The first doctor holds up a towel, ready. SURGEON Shoulders... and...he´s out. Would you like to see your new boy? The second doctor cuts the umbilcal cord. The surgeon lifts a newborn boy above the sheet. ANGLE PHOEBE her tears turn to joy, then relieved laughter. NURSE He´s beautiful. PHOEBE He is beautiful. The Surgeon turns to hand the baby to the first doctor who has removed her cap and mask to reveal... THE SEER. Phoebe reacts in horror. PHOEBE (CONT´D) The Seer.... No! don´t give her my baby! The Seer takes the swaddled newborn into her arms then she looks at Phoebe and smiles THE SEER Thank you. The Seer Flares OUT with the baby. As Phoebe screams... END OF TEASER
