Let's see now what we can do with it unofficially... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first thing is to purchase a card like this one. This shouldn't be very difficult anywhere in Europe. We bought it in Romania for 71 euros + VAT, so probably you will get it around this value. The card came in a small white box with a CD in it. The CD contained the drivers, a TV viewing application and a PVR applicatin. Both work only with FTA programes. In case you purchase a bulk card, you must install the latest drivers (4.22), downloadable on the net. You can also find there the installation instructions in PDF format. Hopefully you have done everything right and can go now to more interesting things... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now you have to install one of the following programes: ProgDVB - http://www.progdvb.com - A software which allows you to watch Satellite Television and listen to Radio channels directly from satellite by using DVB-PCI cards with hardware decoders on the board, SAT-dish, and personal x86-compatible computers with Microsoft Windows98, 2000, XP Operating Systems properly installed. This software has options for working with network broadcasting and Audio/Video recording of the stream to different digital-media formats. ProgDVBR is in development, so new versions are available for download from time to time. DVB Portal - http://www.dvbportal.de - DVB Portal TV Viewer is a Windows based application that uses the latest technologies to experience digital TV right on your desktop. The product empowers viewers to watch live DVD quality MPEG2 video and audio on PCs using a low-budget PCI card or optional by network streaming. There are many other applications like these two on the net. The idea is to try to find the one that is the best for you. If you have a decent PC (more than Intel Pentium III or Duron 800), we give you the advice to use ProgDVB. This was our choice! OK, now you have to find on the net a software that emulates a receiver interface. You will probably find a software called Yankse and download a zip archive with the name looking like MDYankse*.zip. Unzip the content of this archive (according to your opperating system) in the sub-directory Modules of the directory Progdvb. The last step is to find a file called SoftCam.key and put it inside the progdvb directory. After all this work you will have the surprise to see that you can watch on your PC encripted channels. And believe us it's worth the effort! If you run into troubles you can go at http://www.dvbnetwork.com, register for forums and get the help you need. You can watch packages from Germany, France, Poland, Sweden, Spain, Portugal and many, many others. We personally consider the Sweedish and Spanish ones to be the best...
