sftp - access denied on the client

Hi All I was asked to install sftp on a client machine in the domain, and I first need to check if he can comunicate with the server. I installed winscp3.8 and I am getting error "access denied" First I would like to ensure that port 22 is opened onthe server. Do you familier with a tool to scan open ports? I also understand that I will need to install sftp on the server? Can someine help - what should I do please? Thanks Pls reply in hebrew (or english) Tal

לגבי השאלה השניה - מן הסתם אתה אמור להתקין את תוכנת "השרת" על השרת עצמו, אחרת לאן בדיוק תתחבר ? לגבי כלי לבדיקת פורטים פתוחים - הטלנט של וינדוז הוא בדיוק בשביל זה. תן לו את הכתובת של השרת -רווח- ומספר הפורט (22 במקרה הזה)

winscp הוא לקוח ולא שרת. מי אמור לתפקד כשרת SSH ? התחנה או שרת אחר ? באילו מערכות הפעלה מדובר בכל צד ?

the user supposed to sftp from his desktop to the server. The server is the sfrp server - server win 2003 SFTP Server - is this installed by default on win 2003 server or do I need to enable it? What should I configure on the server in order to enable this? Thnx

על השרת צריך להתקים את OpenSSH (שכולל את שרת SSH וSFTP). על התחנה אפשר להשתמש בwinscp בתור לקוח שניגש לשרת SSH/SFTP http://pigtail.net/LRP/printsrv/cygwin-sshd.html
