When a criminal get life sentence

it should be LIFE sentence. Sela would stay 30 years in the prison! 30! it's even more than life sentence in Israel. and what will be after these 30 years? people will forgive him? he will return to be a normal guy or continue with his crimes? I think the same about Igal Amir, and other prisoners that will spend our money for next 25+ years, while in normal country they would execute ! that will be a real Life sentence! and I emphasize the word "LIFE". First of all, the word is "sentance". Secondly, when you say "in normal country they would execute", what normal countries are you referring to? USA? Britain? Norway? Australia? Canada? aAs far as I know, the only countries practicing your type of justice are countries like Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Iran. I don't know about you, but I'd rather live in Australia than in Iran.​

But you're suggesting killing A LOT more pople than they do. Remember, Sela did not kill a single person, and even in America, serial rapists do not get death. The satate of Israel formally executed only one person during its existance, and as bad as Sela is, I don't think he's comparable to Eichmann in any sane way. And Dima, you're not answering my question: what crimes would be punishable by execution under your system? Only murderers and rapists? Or some others as well? and who decides? And does this include every murderer, or are there extenuating circumstances? Do Heroin dealers to small children get the same noose as the guy who sells joints to his friends? For your sake, I hope no woman ever falsly accuses you of rape, and that you will never be convicted for murder. But these things have happened before, many times, and it's very difficult to say "oops" once the body's in the ground. "Just shoot them" is a quick, easy, and usually wrong solution.​

i don't live in israel

but if i would i'd be totally freaking out. now about what you said about killing. i personally think no one, and i mean NO ONE has the right to take the life of another person (or animal, if you insist on asking) . i understand that Sela have done things that to you may seem much worse than killing, but it does not mean that our country needs to be like him. a country is a role model to its citizens; it should show people that death is unacceptable. i'm sorry if i have errors, i'm tired and didn't really feel like going over this​
