Esther, You gave me an advice 2 weeks ago to start breastfeeding from one side only at the afternoons. If there is an improvment - can I go back to feed from both sides at all the feedings? What is recommended in general - feeding from one side only or both? Should I start feeding only from one side? Thanks for your help in this issue. I stopped eating dairy products too, as you adviced and I think he is better although there are moments when I feel like crying - watching him suffer so much..

start feeding on only one side each feed, all day long. Normally we recommend that moms feed on both sides, but in rare cases llike yours, one-sided feeding helps greatly. fromt he first feed in the morning, offer the baby the first breast until he finishes, change his diaper, and go back to that breast if he wants more. If he wants to eat more in the next 4 hours, offer him only that breast. After 4 hours, switch to the other side. You amy want to put ice packs on the side that he is not using. Stay off milk products for another week or so. Let me know in another week what is happening, and I will advise you.​
