Soooo, what would Israeli kids like to get from Japan? Pokemon cards? Yugio cards? Has Mushi king made its appearance yet? How about origami paper, ohashi What's IN what's OUT? Anything else? Also, to those who have been to Japan, what did you like at first sight (gift wise)? After 8 years here, I can no loger see things through Israeli eyes and am afraid of giving gifts that are completely out of (Israeli) common-sense. Domo!​

אני זוכר שכשהאחיינית שלי היתה בערך בת 3 או 4 היא היתה בקטע של חתולים, אז נכנתסי לחנות 100 ין וקניתי ערימה של ציוד של האלו קיטי - סכין ומזלג, כוס, צלחות, סרגל, עפרונות, קלמר וכו'. כל הסיפור עלה פחות מ-1000 ין וזה היה להיט ענק.

Yes there are

Hello Kitty staff in Israel. All kind of "Pichifkes I saw it mostly in teenage shops with all kinds of accessories. I don't have childrens but I think that small kids wouldn't care so much about the origin of the gift. I have a niece which is 4.5 and she likes everything that is pink,qute and looks like a fairy or princes. Last year when I was in Japan i bought her a pink crown and a septer/ she was very very happy.

אנחנו אמנם לא בישראל אבל

הבת שלי (כיום בת שש וחצי) מאד אוהבת מדבקות. כמה גליונות של מדבקות מכל הסוגים עושים אותה מאושרת! אם הילדים שאת צריכה לקנות להם מתנות חובבי אמנות - אפשר לקנות להם עטי-מכחול (יש בחנויות של 100 ין אפילו) או ערכות קאליגרפיה...

when last were you at a hyakuen shop? They have EVERYTHING there! And the size of it is that of a big supermarket. The truth is that I get most of my omiyages there (I hope none of my friends are reading this

). But I did like the caligraphy idea. Since my son is doing Kanji now at school, he could probably 'show' them how to do it. When he returns, right after oshogatsu, every child has to write some word in cligraphy for the new year.. so he will get some practice.

המבחר של כלי כתיבה שיש ביפן הוא גם מדהים - עפרונות, עטים, סרגלים וכו. ילדים בגיל בית ספר בטוח ייהנו מהם.

לי נראה שילדים

תמיד אוהבים משחקים אלקטרונים או חשמליים מיוחדים... יש מלא דברים להביא משם והבעיה שלך די מוכרת לי... תמיד אפשר להביא בגד או נעליים מיוחדים (שיש שם בשפע, כמו הכל) וזה גם תלוי בגיל הילדים.

A. I am holding these games back from my 7 year old son for as long as I can so it would be really rubbing it in to give it to other friends. And B. They cost a bit more than the budget I have allocated for each of the 15 kids I'm buying for...
