obstetric cholestasis

Hi, hope you can help me or recommend someone to ask: In my first pregnancy I had obstetric cholestasis, was treated, monitored and induced to have a healthy baby at 38 weeks. in my seocnd pregnancy, I started itching at 28 weeks and bile acids level was getting high. After a week I had early contractions and received 2 injections of steroids (for baby's lung maturity). With the effect of steroids, itching stoped and bile acids are now low, but Alkaline phosphatase remains high. My doctor, doesn't know to tell me whether my cholestasis is gone, or just "masked / hiding". It is important for me, as I need to know if I can go safely to full term. (I am 33 weeks now). thank you (can read hebrew), mom of Ophrie

כולסטאזיס בהריון

increased alk p during pregnancy could ne from the placemta and not from the liver and this could be checked by isoenzymes assay as for your question you should be seen it is too complicated for internet decision
