אם לא תקבל תשובה ממישהו שמכיר את הנושא, אני יכול להציע לך את הדבר הבא: יש להרבה אתרי אינטרנט של מחלקות שונות ללימודי Graduate דפים עם קורות חיים של בוגרי המחלקה. לעיתים מוצאים שם ממש את הכתובות שלהם בבית כך שאפשר להתרשם מהנתונים הללו (כמובן, אפשר גם להתרשם מתחומי העניין והספק העבודה של מי שנמצא שם).

in New York City, we call the metro "subway" ... as for where to find an apartment it really depends on how much money you have to spend on an apartment. In Manhattan the range is huge and it could be any thing from living like a rat somewhere in the lower east side for 700$ to a nice clean apartment in a quiet area of the upper west side for 2500$. Do you want to share? it could get cheaper. I would recommend to look in Brooklyn too. it's a 15 to 40 min ride in the subway (depends where in Brooklyn) but you will get much more for the same $$$. In NYU there is a very good international students office. talk to them, they could help. good luck.
