I need some recipies for Pashtida. But, a big one, I can not find white cheese here. Most recipies I have require Gvina Levana, from some reason they are hard to find lately -here that is- Please help!!!!
in the U.S. the soft version of the cheese (gvina levana)you usually find in Israel, and then you have to settle for the hard version of cream cheese. I suggest you soften the cream cheese by mixing it with either sour cream or yogurt.
I live in the US and I use regular cream cheese (even the low fat version) with everything including cakes and pies I just put it in room temp. for about an hour and then I whip it until it`s fluffy you can also use for ``pashtidot`` ricota cheese, this cheese is used in Italy. good luck
I am now in Los Angeles. Where are you? I lived before in New York and visited Chicago many times. Most major cities have Israeli stores that can sell you the Israeli product, but from some reason the cheese is hard to come by these days. That and Milkey - which my kids love.
