is this normal../images/Emo53.gif
first of all sorry for botherimg you with my english all the time, I CAN'T get hebrew on this stupid computer. to the point (going to be long...): Ophrie is 2 and half, she recently developed some fears, and I know it's the age for this but don't know whether this is too extreme or normal. Ophrie is afraid of anything that is rude or violant (children arguing, angry faces in books or TV), when she get afriad she is hiding her face for long time and not looking around. Today was the wrost day: we went to purim party (she was a cat). She panicked when she saw the clowns, or anybody with face paint or masks. She huged me hard and hid her face all the time and cried a lot. I didn't want to leave at the begining because I thought she will relax and have a good experience, if I leave she will remember only bad things. However she didn't relax, we went to a quiet room but she panicked when people/children came there, untill she saw they are "safe". Most of the time we just sat there and I huged her. I tried after some time to get her close to clowns to talk with them and see they are normal children and mothers but she closed her eyes and really shaked. she didn't have any nice moment. When we left the place she relaxed and was very happy. At home she played with a toy-clown and then made a stody that her doll is afraid of him. Suddenly she couldn't look at the clown, and became very afraid. With a lot of encouragement she managed (walking with closed eyes) to throw him to the garbige. After I put her to sleep (and I saw she fell asleep) we heard her cry, after 5 minutes. I found her in our bedroom floor. She said the clown woke her up. I guess she had this shallow dreams/thoughts of stage 1 of sleep. I stayed with her and now she is sleeping. I am really worried that she is over reacting. She is not going to see many clowns in her life but she is afraid of other things and I am worried about what's next. Is this normal or needs intervention? anybody with similar experience?? thanks a lot for reading so far
