מועתק מלייב ג'ורנל של מישהי שראתה את הפרקים האלה.
403 opens with Ted and Blake emerging from a free clinic. Ted’s negative (in both his HIV status and his attitude). Now he needs to look for a job. Blake asks him what his dream is. I thought maybe he was going to say, "Being an accountant," but no. He says he always wanted to sing opera. He ends up auditioning for - and getting - a job as a singing waiter. This is one of those silly Cowlip storylines, but it's mercifully short-lived. It wasn't all that bad, though Ted's singing voice certainly didn't seem to bear any relationship to his speaking voice. Cody the vigilante is a psycho pretty much from the word go, so much so that I have a hard time believing that Justin would go along with him. The vigilantes meet in Justin's apartment. Daphne comes in and he introduces her as his roommate. She doesn't like Cody (can't blame her; he rudely tells her that their group is for queers only). We now know (if we didn't already) that Cody is bad news. Justin protests Daph's exclusion more vigorously than he objects to subsequent instances of Cody's dangerous extremism. I'll have to watch it again (and again) to be sure, but right now I'm having a little trouble buying Justin's motivation. In a twist of pure poetic irony, Brian's new office space is an old bath house. Cash flow must not be a problem because by 404, he's got it all fixed up (looks really cool) and he hires Ted as his accountant. It seems that Cowlip are finally letting Brian grow up. There are a number of noticeable reversals from prior seasons. For instance, Emmett says to Michael and Brian, "You two have husbands." Brian gives him a look. Emmett amends it to "wives, partners, passing acquaintances!" Brian doesn't object or deny. Quite a contrast to a similar scene back in 120. Another contrast is the way Brian offers Ted the job - and the fact that he does it at all. That scene when he tells Ted, "You were great" happens after Ted hacks into Wertshafter's files to transfer some money for Kinnetic. Initially, Ted refuses the job, but then he accepts. Hot sex scene in 403, must rewind and watch again. I'm relieved to report that the wrestling scene (in 404) has playful overtones mixed in with the aggression. I really didn't want to watch a scene of domestic abuse! At the end of 404, Cody lets Justin hold the gun (heh). Justin says, "It's cold." Cody says, "It'll warm up." Sound familiar? 404 ends with the handjob.

מפי מישהו שראה את ששת הפרקים הראשונים:
This writer is waking up blurry-eyed on press deadline day having stayed up until 4AM watching all of the first six episodes from the new season (which Showtime kindly gave me). Wow – I could not stop watching one more episode after another! Viewers, too, will be glued to the screen week after week you can be sure. I will give Hotspots! readers some small hints of what is to come! One of the main characters will make an untimely departure. Debbie will have to learn that “words can simply not be reeled back in” once spoken. Another main character will face a life-threatening illness. You’ll also see Justin (aka Sunshine) go through dramatic changes and come to grips with having been fag-bashed in Season 2, in a way that will shock you. Ted’s recovery will hold - he’ll be employed by Brian (who opens his own ad agency in the environment he is most comfortable in)! The supporting characters Blake (yep the guy who left Ted in a “G-Hole” in early episodes), Rodney and Hunter will be taking center stage. Look for the stork flying over Lindsay and Mel’s house as Season 4 progresses. Will Gus be getting a little brother or sister? That’s all I’m giving up!

405-406
In 405, Justin is getting in deeper and deeper with Cody. Brian discovers the gun (we've all seen the scene where he's lying in bed, pointing it at Justin). Later in that episode, Daphne goes to Brian because she's worried about Justin. Brian tells her he already tried to talk to him and it didn't do any good. Daphne says, what if he gets hurt? You can see the conflicting emotions in Brian's face, but he says at least then Justin will know that he stood up and fought and didn't run away. I liked this because it shows that Brian understands and respects what Justin's doing, even though he doesn't agree with it. I had been afraid that this would be one of those "it's your call" kind of things. But Brian is clearly wrestling with this in his own way. He has a conversation about it with Michael and Ben at Babylon. As has been previously spoiled, Justin pulls a gun on Hobbes. He makes Hobbes kneel on the ground and suck on the gun. Justin tells him that now he knows the fear that gays feel every day. It's a very powerful speech. This is Justin's moment of vindication. Cody is egging him on, telling him to shoot. Justin wavers, but ultimately he takes the gun out of Cody's mouth and tells him to get up and go inside. Cody explodes at Justin, says he's a pussy like all the other faggots. Justin walks away. Kinnetic seems to be an immediate success. At the beginning of 406, Brian throws a party at his new office. For once, nobody gets pushed off a fuckin' cliff. He thanks his clients and his friends and then he kisses Justin right in front of everybody. Sooo sweet. The bet between Brian and Justin is about pulling a trick. They pursue him at Babylon and at the gym, where Justin spreads the rumor about Brian having crabs. If Justin wins, they go to Ibiza. If Brian wins, Justin has to go back to school. Even after the vigilante thing is over, Justin still doesn't want to go back to school. When Michael is contacted by a director about making Rage into a movie, Justin has Hollywood dreams. There are a greater variety of scenes between different characters in Season 4, which is a definite plus. Vic dies in 406. Michael finds him. He goes to the diner to tell Debbie. It's especially bad for her because she was angry at Vic for moving in with Rodney. Everybody goes to Deb to offer condolences. Deb smacks Brian in the face when he says Vic was lucky to die fast. She kicks Brian out of the hosue. Justin runs after him, tries to get him to go back and apologize but Brian says he's not sorry. He's going to Babylon. Justin says, how can you think of sex at a time like this? Brian says, a time like this is exactly when you do think of sex. Do it while you still can. I haven't finished watching the ep yet, but obviously he's going to pick up the trick who then finds the lump.

1) We heard the lines below in a promo: Deb: You're old enough to show me a little respect! Michael: (yelling) I do show you respect! Here's what happened with that: (404) She and Mikey are fighting because he tells her she needs to start getting her own friends and stuff and stop coming over all the time since Vic moved out with Rodney. And right as they are in the middle of their fight the social worker shows up for the first time to check on Ben/Mikey/Hunter and sees all that going on. That doesn't ruin it for them though because the social worker comes back the next day and says it shows how much love they have in that home. 2) Brian sticks up for Michael with Emmett because Emmett is not so nice to Michael at Babylon after he feels he is trying to be closer with Ted then to him. Brian goes to Emmett and tells him that anyone who messes with Mikey is his business and says that if he forces Mikey to choose between he and Ted he is going to lose him. more info on that last one: continued 2) The reason why Emmett is mean to Michael in Babylon is because after they find out Ted has become a singing waiter at a restaurant Michael gets the idea for the whole gang to go and support him by eating there, well Emmett says he is not going to go and Michael tells him he should and then Emmet accuses him of only caring how Ted feels in all this and that he doesn't care at all about how he is feeling and gets really upset with that. a little more info on Vic's death: 3) Michael and Emmett find him passed away in his new home. Debbie ends up slapping Brian when everyone gathers at her house later that night to pay their respects about Vic because of something he says she does not like (which we find out what he says in Stillife's spoilers). Vic died because of heavy cholesterol because of his meds. 4) Michael and Justin are all for the RAGE movie but Ben keeps trying to put it into their minds to be very careful in their decision as it could turn out a way they don't want it to. He gets Justin into thinking 'what if the director wants to turn the RAGE character straight' etc. I think he is sort of jealous because his book got passed up and now Michael has a real chance for fame with RAGE.

בריאן וג'סטין, 403, סצינת סקס-
It starts with Justin running into the loft after fucking with some straights, only to find Brian smoking a joint in the loft. Justin starts removing Brian's robe. Justin takes his belt and wraps it playfully around Brian's neck. Then they're both fucking naked and Justin straddles Brian's lap on this chair. Sexy kissing ensues, Brian cups Justin's face in his hands and kisses him. Then Justin is pumping up and down on Brian's lap while holding onto the back of the chair. It's quick interspliced cuts but we have to get someone to do screencaps. I swear there's no way there could be a cock sock involved. It was pretty fucking graphic.

(Brian and Cynthia are talking) Justin: He wants to make Rage into a movie. (Brian ignores him) Did you hear what I said? Brian: He wants to make it into a movie. (continues talking to Cynthia) Justin: Aren't you proud of me? I'm going to be rich (Randy does this head thing that is so adorable) Brian: Good. Now you can pay back the thousands I spent on your aborted education. Justin: Who needs school when you have picture deal? (Randy says it like "pichta deal") Brian: You still won't have a degree. Justin: I already have an idea for the first feature, assuming of course there are going to be numerous sequels. JT gets even with his bashers, goes to Hollywood and becomes a "star" (Randy says it like "sta" while scrunching up his face) Brian: Wow, where did you get that brain storm? Justin: How about we go to Babylon later to celebrate? Brian: Sorry, it's a school night. (Brian goes back to talking business with Cynthia, Justin starts to leave) Hey Spielberg - one drink. Justin: Okay.(Randy dramatically tosses his coat over his shoulder in a princessy way)
