.. אז הנה...הבאתי לכם ראיון די משעשע..של מארון..:..תהנו
On July 14, 2003, we were given the awesome opportunity to chat with Adam and Jesse from Maroon 5 before their show in Mountain View, CA. Here's what they had to say. Tricia: Would you like to introduce yourselves to our readers? Adam: My name is Bon Jovi. Jesse: My name is Jon Bon. Adam: My name is Adam Levine. I am the singer and one of the guitarists for Maroon5. Jesse: My name is Jesse Carmichael and I play keyboards. Tricia: Would you tell us a little bit about the history of your band? How you formed, when you formed? Adam: We formed about 10 years ago, when we were about 15 years old. We started playing Pearl Jam songs, kinda doing the stuff that 15-year-olds do in 1994. You know what I mean? Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden; all those bands were huge influences on us. And Ryan (our drummer) wrote a lot of our songs because he was a huge Tool fan. You should hear our early stuff, it's really interesting. Jesse: It'd be huge today. Adam: Yeah it would be. We were way ahead of our time. But yeah, we just grew up, our influences changed and our attitudes changed. A lot happened in those 10 years. You can imagine from 14 to 24, a lot's going to change. We are where we are now, we're going through a lot of evolution, and we're very happy where we currently reside, which is on the top of the world. Jesse: Here in San Francisco. Tricia: How's this tour been going so far? Are you having a good time? Adam: So wonderful, so, so good. Ryan:It must be because of the bus. Adam: The bus changes the quality of your life dramatically because we toured in a van for a long time. When you get a bus, it changes your life so quickly because you can sleep whenever you want, within reason. You're still in a bus, you still live in a coffin, but it's cool. It's a bus, you know? It makes you feel cooler and it gives you more self-esteem. Because when you're in a van, you feel like you're totally roughing it. And that's totally cool and that's very important. I feel like a lot of bands that bypass the van thing, get the bus right away, they're missing out on an experience that all bands should have. At least all real bands. Tricia: What's been your favorite stop on the tour? Jesse: Seattle. Two days ago. We played at a place called the Gorge, which is an unbelievably beautiful place. Adam: It is one of the most stunning locations for a venue I've ever seen in my life. So gorgeous. And we play at like 7ish so it's sunset and it was just unreal. Have you ever been there? It's a really pretty field. There's a lot of stone, stone benches and it's really earthy. Hippied out and cool and if you turn around, it's basically hanging on this huge cliff, so behind you there's this gorge (hence the name), it's breathtaking. There's nothing around for hundreds of miles. It's really quite something. Jesse: The audience gets to watch the sun set behind the stage and the band gets to watch the moon rise behind the crowd which was really great. As the Counting Crows were playing the moon was sitting on top of the hill and people were dancing in front of it in silhouette. Tricia: What are you planning on doing after this tour? Adam: We're gonna keep touring until the record hits it's peak. Whenever that is. Whether it's right now, or higher than this. We have high expectations, to be honest, and we're going to keep plugging away until it works out for us. Tricia: It's a killer record. What is your favorite song on the album? Adam: I hate them all. No, I love them all. I don't know. (to Jesse) What's your favorite song on the album? Jesse: Either "This Love" or "Secret" or "Sweetest Goodbye". Adam: I don't really like or dislike them, they're just kind of part of me at this point. It would be strange if I was just sitting here, going on and on about a song. "Oh my God, I love that song. It's awesome." It's ok to dig your own stuff, that's totally cool. It's just we do it every day, we play the songs all the time, it's like something I have, like my I-Pod, it's like my songs. Except I don't have my I-Pod anymore. I lost it. Jesse: Adam loses a lot of things. But that's ok because he has his Zen mentality. Adam: I don't need possessions. Ryan: It'll be ok; you guys will be rolling in the millions pretty soon. Adam: Hopefully, maybe. Jesse: Adam can buy another I-Pod. Adam: You know I really don't care about, obviously I want to make some money, that'd be nice. But whatever. It'd be nice to make money so we're not poor. There's definitely some major poverty going on right now in our band. But I don't think we're concerned with that. I think the most exciting thing for us is when people get turned on to the band. We have the on-going war about checking Soundscan every week to see how many records we've sold and whether or not that's a sin or that's ok. I think what turns us on about that is people are getting our record and that's the most exciting thing ever. And that's what I'm focusing on when I get those numbers back. Like "Yes! However many thousand people own our record and that's so cool!" It's like a dream. When we were 14 years old, we couldn't even fathom being this successful. It's amazing. Every day of it.
