What drew you to Mrs & Mrs Smith? Was it the script or Brad Pitt? I thought it was such a fun read. A girlfriend of mine read it and said: 'If there was ever a comedy, this is the kind of comedy you could do,' because there are darker elements. The humour and silliness actually suit me even though it's a comedy. Did Brad's involvement persuade you? I was talking to Brad about it and he felt that I could do it. He had that confidence, and I kept thinking that I wasn't really funny. It's a bit of everything. What do you look for in a man? I'm looking for a good father for Maddox, but also I have to find someone with the same values and the same approach to life and family as I do. I have to look for the best family in the world. You have homes in the UK and US. Do you also feel at home in Cambodia? Cambodians are lovely people. It's my son's country and they know him there. We have this small place where we live that is basically a part of the jungle. How is your UN work going? Very good. I'm continuing with it and focusing on trips to Washington, statements to make and people to meet. Do you fell you're taken seriously? I had to earn respect and I think i'm still earning it. On my first trip, they had no idea what to expect and what I was there to say. After a few meetings I came back, and the senators that I tried to meet with the first time allowed me to come in the second time and then the third time and so on. Do you feel you have two careers now? Yeah, I think that first and foremost i'm a mom an a citizen of the world and also, for fun, an actor. Does doing something different make you a better actress? Well, any deep personal experience makes you a better actress, so yeah. Is your movie career in a good place? I don't take it all that seriously. I'm able to keep working. I'm sure that i'll be able to get a job doing something that I like, some character in something, whether it's in the biggest box office thing of the year or not. When do you think you became a grown-up? Maddox. I think that when I looked down at my hands and they were washing a baby. I can see my hands getting older and I love it. Is it getting easier now to juggle motherhood and work? I'm a mom, and that's how i'm going to be all my life. Success in this business comes and goes. I'm just so happy I'm able to take him on set with me, that's something not a lot of people can do.
