rereduces hospitalization in the first year of life. Some exerpts from the article: Full Breast-feeding May Lower Hospitalizations for Infections During First Year of Life July 14, 2006 — Full breast-feeding reduces the rate of hospital admissions for infections in the infant by one half during the first year of life, according to the results of a study reported in the July issue of Pediatrics. Estimates of attributable risk suggested that 30% of hospital admissions would have been avoided for each additional month of full breast-feeding. It would therefore appear that 100% full breast-feeding of 4-month-old infants would avoid 56% of hospital admissions in infants who are younger than 1 year. Pretty important for you and your baby!!

Full Breast-feeding During 1st Year

How is it possible? I breastfed fully for 6 month, but now I've started other foods.

It means that you only give breast

milk for at least the first 6 months as is the recommendation of the AAP. Many mothers give a mix of breastfeeding and artificial milk, thinking that there is no problem for the baby. this study and many others show that FULL breastfeeding gives the best outcomes in terms of health. It also says that the longer you breastfeed, the better the health outcome. this is bad news for the artificial milk companies who want you to think that it is ok to give your baby artificial milk when you want to, especially in those first crucial days in the hospital.
