5 items added today (a real nice crop): BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS - LIVE & IMPROVISED Blood, Sweat & Tears never recorded a live album while at their prime, so the release of these 1975 recordings from the group`s reunion concerts is really a most welcome addition to their heritage. By that time the only `original` members were David Clayton-Thomas (vocals) and Bobby Colomby (drums), but this lineup is very strong, featuring excellent jazz oriented musicians in the brass section and 3 outstanding guitar players: Steve Kahn, George Wadenius & Mike Stern. The arrangements are more fusion oriented then the early group`s output and these are absolutely delightful moments captured for eternity - what a thrill! OTIS, SHUGGIE - SHUGGIE`S BOOGIE Shuggie Otis was just 15 years old when he was discovered by Al Kooper, who recorded an album with him as part of the `Supper Session` series. The child prodigy blew evrybody`s mind by playing some of the hottest blues licks ever heard and performing with self-assurance, potency and maturity worthy of a blues veteran. This album includes a selection of the best tracks taken from his 4 albums and it smokes all the way! CHICKEN SHACK - 40 BLUE FINGERS, FRESHLY PACKED AND READY TO 1st album from 1968 by this fantastic UK blues outfit, who together with Fleetwood Mac were the forefront of the British Blues Revival in the late 60`s. Led by Stan Webb, a virtuoso blues guitarist, and featuring the talents of Christine Perfect (who was to defect and join Fleetwood Mac after marrying one of their members) they played some of the tastiest and most well developed white blues material ever. A classic. NEW RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE - NEW RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAG 1st album from 1971 by this great US group, who were really an offshoot of the Grateful Dead and included GD members Garcia, Hart & Lesh. In fact the music they played has some of the acid-rock characteristics dominating GD music, but it is much tighter and less `lost in space` then GD, which makes it withstand the test of time much better. Garcia plays some of his best ever guitar here and the entire album is a blast (from the past)! YDOV, SHLOMO - THE FIRST TIME 1st album from 1978. After No Names was disbanded, all 3 members embarked on their individual careers and this was Shlomo`s debut solo effort. It is one of the best Israeli Prog oriented albums ever, with wonderful melodies and beautiful instrumental performances by the best Israeli players. In retrospect this is still some of the nicest and most ambitious music ever recorded in Israel. Hebrew vocals. Have Fun! Adam Baruch Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/
