2 excellent items added today: First another Mini-Sleeve edition: JUMBO ~ JUMBO 1st album from 1972 by this Italian Prog band. Recorded at the early days of the band`s formation, it does not come up to the full potential displayd on the band`s later excellent albums, but it is nevertheless quite a nice acheivment. Oroginally planned as a solo album by the group`s leader Alvaro Fella, whose nickname then became the name of the group. The orogonal vinyl albums is a collector`s item. Limited Edition ======================== And a great new DVD: LORD, JON ~ BEYOND THE NOTES-LIVE (DVD) Filmed in October 2004, this DVD captures Jon Lord playing and conducting a large ensemble performing music from his new album. There are quite a few additional tunes added here from Jon`s illustrous career and everybody seems to have a great time. Lord explains about each tune in turn and talks to his many guests. The band and the string orchestra play their hearts out and this is quite an experience. Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, 155 minutes. ====================== Have Fun! 7 new items added today, all quite different from each other - in the best tradition of the Jazzis Web Shop First 2 superb instrumental Prog albums: ARKENSTONE, DAVID ~ IN THE WAKE OF THE WIND Excellent album from 1991 by David Arkenstone, who although associated mostly (and wrongly) with New Age, produces epic concept albums of the scope and beauty similar to Prog masters such as Wakeman, Kitaro and Vangelis. Immensly tallented composer and instrumentalist, Arkenstone manages to combine beautiful mellodies and lush arrangements into spellbinding flow of flawless music. ARKENSTONE, DAVID ~ ANOTHER STAR IN THE SKY Beautiful album from 1994 dedicated to Arkenstone`s Mother. As usual the composer also plays all the keyboards and guitars on this album, but the orchestration is supplied by a string ensemble, which adds significant sound depth and beauty. The tracks fall seamlessly into one continuous stream, which results in a lovely musical tapestry. Definitely worth getting into. ====================== Next 3 albums by the best Celtic Rock group ever: CAPERCAILLIE ~ SECRET PEOPLE 7th album from 1993 by this superb Scottish band, which combines the beautiful tradition of Celtic music with modern rhythms and instrumentation, a winning combination which is unbeatable (and much much stronger than other more famous Celtic Rock bands). Singer Karen Matheson has a wonderful voice that will remind Celtic pop fans of Mary Black, but the wonderful sense of ballance and deep knowledge of the tradition take her much further. A beauty! CAPERCAILLIE ~ BEAUTIFUL WASTELAND 11th album from 1997 and another stunning success for this superb Scottish Celtic Rock band. Recorded in the mountains of Andalucia, in Southern Spain, it includes some participation of local musicians and shows the band`s openess to ther musical cultures and their will to ever expand the horizons of their music. Karen Matheson´s crystalline voice sounds better then ever and the entire albums is kust one great musical trip. MATHESON, KAREN ~ THE DREAMING SEA Stunning debut album from 1996 by Capercaillie frontwoman Karen Matheson. Her crystal clear voice and immense talent, combined with an excellent choice of material make this one of the best ever Celtic Rock albums. A solo album showcases her vocal range and gives her an opportunity to experiment with her many talents. The material includes both traditional Gaelic songs as well as new songs written especially for this album. A must! ======================== Next a free-jazz album: MURRAY, SUNNY / R.A.U. ~ ILLUMINATION One of the early avant-garde´s most inventive and influential drummers, Sunny Murray recorded this album in 1992 in Austria with the R.A.U. ensemble led by Austria`s most famous Jazzman Fritz Novotny. A great example of free jazz improvisations and especially interesting in view of the vocal parts sung by Leena Conquest. Murray`s musical credits read like the Who`s Who of modern improvised music (Cecil Taylor, Alber Ayler, Ornette Coleman), so every piece of music recorded by him is always welcome. ======================== And finally a Pop classic: FARDON, DON ~ ALL THE YOUNG BLOOD TRACKS A complete collection of all 24 tracks recorded by the UK singer Don Fardon for the short-lived Young Blood label. Fardon and his group the Sorrows were a one-hit wonders with the song `Indian Reservation` in 1968. Don recorded his only solo album for the label - I`m Alive - in 1970 and a few more singles, but his career was soon over. This is the first compillation of his entire recorded legacy, including never previously released material. ======================== Have Fun!
