1 new Israeli item added today (always a treat!): HAMMER, DOV ~ GOING DEEP Dov Hammer is Israel`s leading Blues artist. Born and Raised in Chicago, Hammer now risides in Tel Aviv, Israel. Over the years, as well as leading his own bands, he has also shared stages with some of the best American Blues artists. After years of performing and recording with electric Blues bands, Dov Hammer felt the urge to return to his roots and play acoustic music. Recorded and produced by guitarist Ronnie Katz, `Going Deep` features 12 original songs, which showcase Hammer`s songwriting prowess. Never content to repeat blues cliches, he uses the blues tradition as a platform for personal expression, while seasoning it with influences of other musical forms, such as country, bluegrass and rock. Considereng how few Israeli artists play the Blues, this is a most welcome addition to Israel`s multi-cultural musical mosaic. ====================== 5 more SALE items added today, all by the legendary blues guitarist Peter Green: GREEN, PETER ~ WHATCHA GONNA DO? After leaving Fleetwood Mac at the end of 1970, the legendary blues guitarist disappeared from the scene for almost 10 years, resurfacing by the end of the 1970s to record a series of albums under his name. This continued till the mid-1980`s when he disappeared again, only to resurface again by the end of the 1990s. This 1981 album features the typical material Green recorded during this period, which was a mixture of blues and rock. GREEN, PETER ~ WHITE SKY This 1981 album is considered the most `rocky` album ever recorded by Green, with a super support band including Reg Isidore (of the Robin Trower band). The interesting point of this album is that all the songs were penned by his older brother Mike (they cooperated often during this period). Definitely worth checking out. GREEN, PETER ~ KOLORS 1983 album by Green with very strong support band featuring Reg Isadore, Dave Mattacks (of Fairport Convention) a.m.o. The material is mostly written by Peter`s brother Mike. Peter plays some great guitar here, as always, and this is a good example of his recordings at that period. GREEN, PETER ~ THE CLOWN A great collection from Peter Green`s albums recorded in the late 1970s. The musicians include such legends as Snowy White (of Pink Floyd fame), Peter Bardens (from Camel), Reg Isadore (from Robin Trower band) a.m.o. This is a good introduction to his albums of that period. GREEN, PETER ~ COLLECTION A great and extensive collection of the best material from Peter Green`s albums from lathe 1970s and early 1980s.
