We start the December new additions with two new albums by one of the greatest jazz musicians of all times - Polish pianist / composer Krzysztof Komeda. Those are the last 2 albums in the entire recorded Komeda legacy reissued on 13 CDs. KOMEDA, KRZYSZTOF ~ BALLADS This album presents the Komeda Trio performing at the Warsaw Jazz Jamboree Festival in 1962. It is a wonderful opportunity to hear the great Polish pianist / composer in a most intimate situation as close to his music as possible. The material includes mostly Komeda`s wonderful compositions, including the music he composed at that time for Roman Polanski`s film Knife In Water. KOMEDA, KRZYSZTOF ~ ROSEMARY`S BABY At last available two of Komeda`s most famous film scores he composed for the Polish director Roman Polanski - Rosemary`s Baby and Fearless Vampire Killers. Polanski just moved to Hollywood to direct those films and obviously he asked Komeda to write the music for his films, as he did when he was making films in Poland. Komeda went to Hollywood to score both movies and it is there he had the tragic car accident that severed his life and illustrious career. =========================== Next we add 8 more SALE items to our selection. GROSVENOR, LUTHER ~ UNDER OPEN SKIES Only album from 1971 by guitarist Luther Grosvenor, who was the founding member of one of the finest UK blues groups Spooky Tooth. Grosvenor left the group after 4 albums and recorded this superb album before disappearing from the music scene. Several Spooky Tooth members play on this album, as well as other famous UK musicians, such as Jim Capaldi. A super rare gem! DOCTOR JOHN ~ THE CRAZY CAJUN RECORDINGS What a delightful album this is - a collection of all material recorded by Mac Rebennack aka Doctor John from the early 1960s on the small Crazy Cajun label. Mac`s husky voice and his incredible talent for making any music sound unique is already evident here. This is great stuff, definitely not only for his fans but for every music lover. KINKS ~ THE EP COLLECTION VOL. TWO Kinks need no introduction of course - they were a top band for a long time and dominated world charts through the 1960s. Led by the Davies brothers, they penned one great song after another, and those songs were not only great melodies, most had a pretty sarcastic social message as well. This is a collection of 12 of their mid-60s EPs with 28 tracks - pure gold! PILOT ~ FROM THE ALBUM OF THE SAME NAME 1st album from 1974 by the British Rock band Pilot, which although quite excellent never enjoyed much commercial siccess beyond their first single `Magic`, which is included here. Pilot were veru good players and wrote nice songs, so if you are into early 1970s stuff this is well worth discovering. PILOT ~ MORIN HEIGHTS 3rd and last album from 1976 by this UK group, which although quite little known was one of the more ambitious outfits on the UK Rock scene. The group members were very talented musicians and coposers and in retrospect this music sound more then decent even today. COSTELLO, ELVIS ~ ALMOST BLUE One of the finest UK singers / songwriters Elvis Costello has a long and illustrous career to his credit. He writes some of the most deeply touching melodies and his lyrics are always full is meaningfull messages, often deeply personal and sometimes touching on social / political satire. This great CD includes not only the original album but also a live EP and even more live material. Delicious! COSTELLO, ELVIS ~ GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS This immense collection of 47 tracks hand-picked by Mr. Costello himself documents his extensive and illustrous career in depth and is a wonderful musical experience in every sense. If one does not intend to buy all his individual albums, this is the one to have! COSTELLO, ELVIS ~ THE VERY BEST OF ELVIS COSTELLO Considering the fact that Elvis Costello never wrote any bad music, making a `very best` collection is not an easy task. Mr. Costello himself made the decisions here and selected 22 songs that he considers to be his very best.
