3 items added today (and no sarcasm please - I know they should have been here a long time ago). KING CRIMSON ~ IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING 1st album from 1969. Probably the most inportand Prog album of all times and a reference point for generation to follow. Most of what is defined as Prog can be found on this album: intricate compositions, shifting rhythms, extended improvisations, mystic lyrics - in short the canon of the genre. No other album ever reached the same revolutionary effect this masterpiece had on generations of listeners since its release. The remastered edition renders all previous releases obsolete and for the first time the listener can enjoy the beautiful sound as well. Absolutely essential. 30th Anniversary Edition KING CRIMSON ~ IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON 2nd album from 1970. Following the debut album of such magnitude as ITCOTCK seemed impossible, especially in view of the shaky state the band was in at the time, with personell changes, but nevertheless this album is as strong, if not stronger then its predecessor. The compositions are more spacey and the playing, enforced by the presence of Keith Tippett and extended use of Mellortone by Fripp is richer and better organized. Amazing stuff and absolutely essential. 30th Anniversary Edition KING CRIMSON ~ LIZARD 3rd album from 1970. Almost complete change of direction for the band with strong jazz influence incorporated into the initial formats defined by the the first two albums. The origianal band is no more present here, with Fripp taking over completely. The cream of the crop of UK jazz participates on this album, as initially indicated by the inclusion of Keith Tippett and Jon Anderson (Yes) sings on one track. In retrospect this is the boldest and most exciting statement by the first (well almost) incarnation of the band. Absolutely essential. 30th Anniversary Edition =========================== Many items back in stock! =========================== This is also a reminder to all our Club Members who did not make their June orders yet - today is your last chance! Have Fun! Adam Baruch Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/

שאלה../images/Emo19.gif

4 items added today, all Prog classics: GENTLE GIANT ~ ACQUIRING THE TASTE 2nd album from 1971. Following the stunning debut album, this one stretches the ideas even further, with everything between Hard Rock and Gregorian Chants fused into an amazing amalgam unique to this band. Elegant and sophisticated, humorous and deep, this is an unmatched musical gem. which inspired generations of Proggers. No Prog collection should be without this album. KING CRIMSON ~ ISLANDS 4th album from 1971. This was to be the last studio album by what is know as the first period of the band, followed only by the live `Earthbound`. The instrumentation is similar to the one used on `Lizard`, with several jazz musicians guesting, but the format is tighter and more rocky. Fripp`s guitar and mellotron and Collins` saxes dominate the sound. The level of musicianship is stunning, as usual. 30th Anniversary Edition KING CRIMSON ~ LARKS` TONGUES IN ASPIC 6th album from 1973. This album marks the re-born KC after a short period of regrouping, with a completely new lineup, which includes David Cross on violin, John Wetton on bass and lead vocals and the astounding Bill Bruford on drums, who will be part of all KC incarnations from now on. Both the sound and the musical direction are completely revamped, with dark, heavy, convulsed atmosphere and avant-rock style dominating. A masterpiece! 30th Anniversary Edition KING CRIMSON ~ STARLESS AND BIBLE BLACK 7th album from 1974. Same line-up as on the previous album (less percussion) and the same musical direction, even more expanded into the fringes of the `known` musical vocabulary of that period. Some of the most memorable KC melodies were born for this album and the overall effect is shocking to this very day. As usual, KC were years ahead of their time and pioneering new musical grounds.

6 items added today: First 2 more Israeli masterpieces newly remastered: CASPI, MATHI/GRONICH, SHLOMO ~ BEHIND THE SOUNDS 1st album from 1972 by this duo of Israel`s most talented composers and performers. Recorded live with just a piano and guitar, this revolutionary album exposed those two talents to Israeli public for the first time. The complex compositions and carefully chosen lyrics worked together like magic and this still is one of those albums that send shivers down your spine. This album was so advanced and sophisticated at the time of its release that many Israelis had serious trouble liking it and I remember people leaving the concert halls during their performances. A masterpiece! GRONICH, SHLOMO ~ COTTON CANDY 2nd album from 1982. Recorded after Gronich returned from the US, where he studied composition, this is probably the best rock album ever recorded in Israel. Everything is perfect here - Gronich`s superb compositions and virtuoso keyboards and vocal performances, as well as the best possible team of musicians, including the best Israeli jazz musicians (especially the young Mordy Ferber on guitar, who was to leave for the US soon and establish a brilliant career for himself there). The album has a strong fusion feel, but is basically firmly rooted in rock. Timeless! And 2 rock classics: LOVE ~ FOUR SAIL (DELUXE EDITION) 4th album from 1969. By the time this album was released Arthur Lee was the only original Love member left in the group and his domination was complete. However, this still is a very good album, with Lee`s superb songwriting strong as ever and a solid support from the new band members. More rocky then the previous albums and with a harder sound, this was to be the last truly worthwhile effort by the band. YES ~ TIME AND A WORD (DELUXE EDITION) 2nd album from 1970. Although this was the least commercially sucessful album by Yes, in retrospect it presents an ambicious effort by the band to establish a unique identity, preserving the charming freshness and somehow naive approach. This was also the last album to include Peter Banks (guitar) and Tony Kaye (keyboards), who were soon to leave the band to start their own band (Flesh). As imperfect as it might seem, this is still one of my favorite Yes albums (along with the debut), before pompous and over-visceral efforts took over. Essential! And 2 Fusion classics: COBHAM, BILLY ~ SPECTRUM 1st album from 1973. Freshly out of Mahavishnu Orchestra, Cobham created one of the most perfect Fusion albums with this album. Surrounded by great instrumentalists (especially Jan Hammer on keyboards and Tommy Bolin on guitar with a host of jazz stars) performing his most memorable tunes Cobham extends the boundaries of Fusion beyond anything else on the secene. Absolutely essential! PONTY, JEAN-LUC ~ COSMIC MESSENGER 1978 album by the French virtuoso Violinist and his Fusion group, which included such brilliant players as Allan Zavod (keyboards) and Ralphe Armstrong (bass). This is elegant and sophisticated music, combining the best of American Fusion with the European music tradition. Ponty`s brilliant composition serve as a perfect vehicle for extanded improvisations by all players. Have Fun! Adam Baruch Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/

4 items added today, all Prog classics: ATOMIC ROOSTER ~ ATOMIC ROOSTER (DELUXE EDITION) 1st album from 1970. Atomic Rooster formed from the ashes of `Crazy World Of Arthur Brown` and soon became one of the most popular Prog groups of all times. Led by Vincent Crane, who plays some unbelievable Hammond organ, and supported by Carl Palmer on drums (the P of ELP), this was one of the best groups ever. They combined instrumental elloquence with superb writing, all this with hard edged sense of riff and pulse. A classic! ATOMIC ROOSTER ~ DEATH WALKS BEHIND YOU (DELUXE EDITION) 2nd album from 1970. After Palmer left the group to join ELP, they assimilated a heavier sound, which is considered as a forerun of Hard Rock, but still very Prog indeed. Great compositions and passionate playing makes this one of the more memorable albums of early Prog. Departing Carl Palmer was replaced by Paul Hammond and to strenghten the band`s sound and versatility a guitar was added to turn them into a quartet. A classic! YES ~ YES (DELUXE EDITION) 1st album from 1969. Anderson, Bruford, Banks, Squire & Kaye were to change the face of Rock as we know it with this sensational and astounding debut album. Full of new and original ideas, new sound and instrumentation that was to become the model for all Prog to come, this is a cornerstone of rare magnitude. Although naive and imperfect at times, this is my favorite Yes album and nothing done later by Yes had similar impact on music as this album. Absolutely essential! YES ~ CLOSE TO THE EDGE (DELUXE EDITION) 5th album from 1972. By the time this album was released, Yes were already deep into their somewhat overblown and self-centered world, with Anderson`s mystical lyrics sounding dangerously close to gibberish and Wakeman`s showmanship on the keyboards pompous and tireing. Don`t get me wrong - this is great music and a Prog classic in every respect, but the initial spark, brilliance and energy was slowly, but surely being lost in the process. Have Fun!
