5 items added today: WHO ~ TOMMY (DELUXE EDITION) Although referenced often as the first `Rock Opera`, this 1969 masterpiece by The Who has verry little to do with operaic characteristics and is in fact one of the first full scale concept albums. Revolutionary in scope and contents, it remains as one of the most influential albums recorded in the 20th century and an epic to generations of Rock listeners. This expanded edition gives a great glimpse as to the birth of this project with earlier demos and outtakes. Absolutely essential. COREA, CHICK ~ MY SPANISH HEART (MASTER EDITION) Probably the finest ever album combining the elements of Jazz-Rock Fusion and Latin rhythms. This 1976 masterpiece includes a stellar line-up (Ponty, Clarke, Gadd a.m.o.) and rich string & brass arrangements, but of course Corea`s brilliant piano playing is the focal point. The compositions, many of which are considered today as standards and are universally played by musicians all over the globe, are also outstanding and have the unforgetable charm and sophistication. An absolute gem! TEN YEARS AFTER ~ CRICKLEWOOD GREEN 5th album from 1970 and considered by many as their best ever effort (although all of their early albums are truly outstanding). Very strong, blues based material and excellent performances by all members, with an occasional jazz riff here and there are all part of a formula that never fails. Alvin Lee`s guitar mastery is shining brightly as ever and the entire album is a truely excitig musical experience. BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST ~ BABY JAMES HARVEST 4th album from 1972. This one marks probably the peak of their early period, with excellent compositions and rich (almost Baroque) orchestrations. It`s really amazing that this superb group never received the attention and recognition they deserved at the time those first 4 albums were released and only now Prog fans are re-discovering their splendid heritage. HILLAGE, STEVE ~ FISH RISING 1st album from 1975. After leaving Gong, where he played on the entire `Radio Gnome Invisible` trilogy, Hillage recorded this excellent debut album with some of his ex-Gong cohots participating, but adding the great Dave Stewart and even Lindsay Cooper (from Henry Cow), to create a much more sophistcated sound and instrumentation. The material consists mothly of 3 long (2 over 14 minutes) suites and a few shorter pieces. In retrospect this album mamages to keep at it`s extraordinary qualities well and is still fresh and exciting. ======================== Many items back in stock ======================== Have Fun!
