3 items added today: TASAVALLAN PRESIDENTTI ~ TASAVALLAN PRESIDENTTI 1st album from 1969 by this great Finnish Prog group. It included some of the most talented young Finnish musicians, including Jukka Tolonen on guitar, Junnu Aaltonen on sax & flute (who was to become on the the leaders of the Finnish jazz scene) and his brother Vesa on drums. They play a beautiful mixture of Prog, jazz and folk, which at that time was truly innovative and unigue. A historical landmark! XL ~ VISUAL 6th album from 2003. XL follow the pattern established on their last two albums, mixing sounds and melodies into an incredible tappestry that is uniquly XL. This is the forefront of today`s music, Prog or otherwise. It takes time to really appreciate this and repeated listening sessions are highly recommended. If you know the earlier albums, you`ll get this one anyway, if not - jump right in for the musical experience that could change your life! VIETGROVE ~ THE LITTLE APOCRYPHA UK duo Vietgrove (Norman Phay - keyboards and Mark Bailey - guitars) recorded this album at their home studio and it took them 5 years (1997-2001) to complete it. Well, it was worth it! This is one of the best and most pleasent Ambient Prog albums ever made - yes a big statement, but true. Take the best elements of Tangerine Dream and Mike Oldfield, subtract the druggery and boredom and you get what this album is all about. Some gentle melodies, well developed using a wide scope of sounds produced by the instruments, create a natural flow and beauty. Very much worth trying out! ============================ Please note that almost all Scandinavian albums are back in stock after we received an enormous shipment from the `cold` zone :) Also note that less then 10 % of items in our repertoire are out of stock. It takes a lot of work and investment to make this happen - I hope you appreciate this. ============================ Have Fun! Adam Baruch Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/

7 items added today: GILES, MICHAEL ~ PROGRESS Unreleased album from 1978 now out for the first time! The list of musicians looks like the Who`s Who of the Canterbury scene and includes members of Caravan, Matching Mole and of course Michael`s brother Peter of the Giles, Giles and Fripp fame. The music, all written my Michael, is of course brilliant and the performances outstanding. How such a treasure went unreleased for such a log time is a mystery, but who cares now! BROWN, ARTHUR ~ TANTRIC LOVER This is a surprising album from 2000, after several years of silence, from the master musician who shocked the Prog scene with the revolutionary Crazy World album in the early days of his career. It shows a gentle and more introvert side of Brown as a singer and songwriter, and the acoustic instrumentation brings out other qualities in his voice then we know from his past recordings. Very interesting indeed. GENTLE GIANT ~ PROLOGUE The Glass House label releases all available live GG material, that was previously issued on various bootleg labels. The material is cleaned up and sounds quite decent. Of course every shread of GG material is worth its weight in gold. This material was recorded in Germany in 1974 and in USA in 1975. WETTON, JOHN ~ COUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE 2nd album from 1980, which was unavailable on CD for a long time. A great collection of Wetton songs and his incredible voice at the peak of his singing abillities. Many guest musicians play here including Martin Barre (Jethro Tull) and Simon Kirke (Free, Bad Company). Although this is on the `easier` side of Prog, Wetton is a great song craftsmen and this is one of his best efforts. GONG ~ HISTORIES AND MYSTERIES OF PLANET GONG Originally released as a single album in 1989 now in much extended 2 albums version. This is a collection of live recordings and other strange tidbits (and when Gong goes strange...), all combined as a continuous sound collage. There is some absolutely best Gong material here, as well as some of the most obscure. For Gong fans this is a marvel! The first (original) album includes material spanning from 1962 to 1979 and the second one comes all from the 1980`s. MOTHER GONG ~ THE OWL IN THE TREE 2nd album from 1990. Mother Gong was of course one of the many off-shot bands comming from the original Gong, this one being led by Gilli Smyth. Daevid Allen joins the group for this album and splits the vocal parts with Gilli, as well as contributing some of his songs. This is one of the best and most focused efforts to come out of the Gong camp from that troubled period. FISH ~ FIELD OF CROWS 8th solo album (since leaving Marillion in 1988) from 2004. This is a great collection of beautiful songs, suprisingly serene and relaxed. The backing band is comprised of excellent musicians and Fish`s voice is as clear and expressive as ever. There are some Blues influenced songs here, which is rare for Fish so far. It all works our very well and this is surely one of his best albums ever. ============================== April was a record month for us as far as new additions are concerned - almost 100 new items were added! We really hope you are enjoying our ever-growing repertoire as much as we do ;) ============================== Have Fun! Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/
