8 new items added today: FREE - HEARTBREAKER 8th and last album from 1973. Although only two original members of Free made it that far (Rodgers & Kirke), the farewell opus is one of their strongest releases, with great new songs and excellent playing. This album marked an end of one of the best UK groups ever and after the final split the key members went to form Bad Company. The entire remastered + bonus tracks output by Triumvirat: TRIUMVIRAT - MEDITERRANEAN TALES (ACCROSS THE WATERS) 1st album from 1972 by this excellent German (from Cologne) Prog band led by the classically trained pianist Jurgen Fritz. They did not follow the Kraut Rock path, as most of the German bands did at that period, and were closer to the UK keyboards led groups like Nice and later ELP. One of the best examples of instrumental keyboard Prog ever recorded. TRIUMVIRAT - ILLUSIONS ON A DOUBLE DIMPLE 2nd album from 1974 by this German band, considered by many as one of the best instrumental Prog albums ever. With rich orchestral arrangements the music gets a greater scope and reminds similar Prog efforts in that vain. The musicians perform brilliantly and the entire album sound fresh and interesting all way through. A true classic! TRIUMVIRAT - SPARTACUS 3rd album from 1975. A concept album about the Roman gladiator who dared to stand up to his masters, this beautiful piece of music firmly established the group as one of the leaders of instrumental keyboard fronted Prog and brought them first span of attention in the US. They were received less enthusiastically at home, which led to a few years of permanent residency in the US. TRIUMVIRAT - OLD LOVES DIE HARD 4th album from 1976. By the time this album was released, Triumvirat acheived almost superstar status in the US and their highly prised earlier albums were big sellers. For this new work they included for the first time a vocalist from UK - Barry Palmer. The album is another example of excellent symphonic Prog and Jurgen`s playing often compared to that of Emerson and Wakeman. TRIUMVIRAT - POMPEII 5th album from 1977. Another concept work recorded with orchestral backup. The group went through some personell changes and now included two ex-Passport musicians (another great German Jazz-Rock outfit) with Palmer still on lead vocals. In retrospect this is a very strong album, although it was severely criticized at the tome of its original release. TRIUMVIRAT - A LA CARTE 6th album from 1978. There was only one member of the original band left by the time this album was recorded - the leader Jurgen Fritz, and he decided to change the direction and produce a rock (even pop) album, with lavish orchestral arrangements and more accessable tunes. Although harshly criticised by the Prog fans, in retrospect this is still an interesting piece of musical history. TRIUMVIRAT - RUSSIAN ROULETTE 7th and last album from 1980. Engaging several rock musicians (from the US band Toto) Fritz produced another rock oriented album, but with more instrumental passages recalling the Prog direction the band followed at their early days.
