Just 1 new item today, but what an item! ISILDURS BANE - MIND VOL.4:pASS 11th album from 2003 and another superb creation by Sweden`s Masters. Although the return to lyrics/vocals (they have been playing instrumental music for almost a decade) was quite a shock to the band`s followers, this is as far from the traditional song format as one can imagine, with modern approach and almost classical formats. They just can´t go wrong! Please note also that all Finnish items (Wigwam, etc.) are back in stock, as well as many other Scandinavian items. Have Fun! Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/

Another item added today: THINKING PLAGUE - A HISTORY OF MADNESS 5th album from 2003. As usual this brilliant experimental group led by Mike Johnson on guitars (& such) created a masterpiece of modern music which is impossible to describe, but an immense pleasure to listen to. Deborah Perry on vocals is magnetic as always and Dave Kerman adds some percussion work recorded in Israel via the Net. Fans of RIO and their earlier work will not be disappointed. Please note that all Cuneiform items are back in stock! Have Fun! Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/

3 new items added today, all by the great UK Prog group Thieves` Kitchen: THIEVES` KITCHEN - HEAD 1st album form 2000 by this greatly tallented UK Prog group. Combining influences from the Cabterbury style & GG, but adding a lot of modern sound and vitality, they are a living proof that Prog is alive and kickin`. Very nice tunes and excellent instrumental performances, all in good taste and immaginative. THIEVES` KITCHEN - ARGOT 2nd album from 2001 with new and much improved line-up. This is TK at their fully grown and polished form, playing even better then on the debut album. More good tunes and vibrant performances create a very enjoyable album of up-to-date Prog music, which is a pleasure to listen to. Quite jazzy at times, but nothing to worry about for Prog purists. THIEVES` KITCHEN - SHIBBOLETH 3rd album from 2003 in which the group takes a new direction. The vocalist Amy Darby joins them and her dark, enigmatic voice creates a new, almost RIO sound, reminding Jullie Tippetts and Annette Peacock at times. Much more serious and profound music then on the previous efforts, perhaps even for different audiences? Amazing stuff! (And no, I don´t know where the Hebrew name comes from!) Have Fun! 9 items added today: At lasts! the remastered + bonus tracks of the entire Family output, which has been unavailable for almost 10 years! (It´s not difficult to understand from my descriptions that this is one of my favorite bands of all times). FAMILY - A SONG FOR ME 3rd album from 1970. Poli Palmer joind Family for this one and his outstanding instrumental capabilities on vibes and flute created another dimention. The tunes are more complex, with longer instrumental passages, Chapman`s voice superb as usual and the group is really a well oiled Prog machine by that time. Essential! FAMILY - ANYWAY 4th album from 1970. As there was hardly enough time to properly write and rehearse new material in such a short time, the first 4 tracks on this one were recorded live. The rest are new studio recorded songs. Continuation of the ideas from previous albums, all beautiful and fresh. It`s amazing how good it all sounds after all these years. Brilliant! FAMILY - FEARLESS 5th album from 1971. Considered by many to be their best album (although everything they did is best) it features John Wetton on bass, who brings virtuoso pulsating bass as a steady anchor upon which the rest of the band can really fly. Great songwriting, singing and playing all the way - a true Prog classic album! FAMILY - BANDSTAND 6th album from 1972. Recorded by the same line-up as the previous album and as strong musically, with excellent compositions and superb performances. By this time Family were probably one of the top 5 Prog bands in the world, what a pity that only very few fans noticed it. If you never heard it - you must, if you did - you must hear it again! FAMILY - IT`S ONLY A MOVIE 7th and last album from 1973. Although Palmer and Wetton left the band by the time this was recorded, replaced by Tony Ashton and Jim Cregan, this is in evey way as strong as the other albums, even if critics at the time put it down. The music is still excellent, as is the playing, not to mention Chapo`s voice. Less Prog perhaps, but still a collosal album. FAMILY - LIVE Family never released a live album (except those 4 live tracks on `Anyway`), so this is a most wonderful addition to their recording heritage. Recorded in 1971 at the London`s Rainbow (the prime UK venue for Prog and Rock in general), thsi is the band ad their absolute peak playing and singing their hearts out. Same line-up as `Fearless` & `Bandstand`. What a band! JONES, JOHN PAUL - THE THUNDERTHIEF 2nd album from 2001. This solo recording by ex Led Zep bassist is quite similar to his debut, with him playing most of the instruments with a little help from other musicians. The tunes vary from pulsating up-tempo rocky numbers to quiet ballads. Also some strong world music elements (Irish in particular) are present. Definitely a very interesting and enjoyable experience. HECKSTALL-SMITH, DICK - WOZA NASU After playing in various incarnations of rock and Prog music (Graham Bond, Colosseum) for almost 35 years, DHS recorded this great album in 1991, and it was considered his first `jazz` rather then rock recording. For some strange reason the album was almost instantly deleted and this new reissue is most welcome. Don´t be fooled - it is jazz, but the rock foundation is very strong and DHS is such a great player! LITTLE ATLAS - SURFACE SERENE 2nd album from 2003 by this US Prog outfit led by the keyboards player and composer Steve Katsikas. The music is very well based on the Prog tradition, but played with a harder edge at times and very modern sound. Compositions are well crafted and interesting, which makes listening to this album a real pleasure. The fact that they are not famous yet is only in their favour! Mant items back in stock (all DGM & Voiceprint items). Have Fun! Adam Baruch Jazzis Web Shop https://www.jazzis.com/shop/
